Electrical Project Manager Job Overview The Electrical Project Manager is responsible for the successful delivery of electrical projects and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) programmes from contract award through to completion. The role involves managing project budgets, programmes, subcontractors and direct labour while ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards. Working closely with clients, engineers, subcontractors and internal teams, the Electrical Project Manager will coordinate electrical installations, maintenance activities and refurbishment works, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, industry standards and statutory regulations. The role requires effective planning of PPM works to minimise operational disruption while maximising value and performance. Key Responsibilities • Manage the delivery of multiple electrical projects and PPM contracts simultaneously., • Lead electrical projects from mobilisation through to completion, ensuring programme, budget and quality objectives are achieved., • Plan, programme and coordinate electrical PPM activities alongside reactive and capital works where required., • Manage project budgets, forecasts, reporting and change control in conjunction with the commercial team., • Coordinate engineers, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure efficient delivery of planned works., • Review project documentation, specifications and drawings to ensure compliance with contractual requirements, electrical standards and buildability., • Develop project delivery strategies that maximise efficiency, minimise downtime and provide value for the client., • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers., • Coordinate with estimating and pre-construction teams to ensure smooth handover from tender through to project delivery., • Support estimating activities by reviewing subcontractor quotations, supplier pricing and project cost plans., • Assess and appoint electrical subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring competence and compliance., • Identify project risks and opportunities, implementing mitigation measures where required., • Ensure compliance with all relevant electrical legislation, health and safety requirements, company policies and industry standards., • Monitor project performance against programme, quality and financial targets, providing regular progress updates to stakeholders. Knowledge, Skills & Attributes • Strong knowledge of electrical installations, maintenance and PPM delivery within commercial and industrial environments., • ·Good understanding of electrical compliance requirements, including BS 7671 and associated regulations., • Excellent project planning, organisational and programme management skills., • Proven ability to manage multiple live projects and maintenance programmes simultaneously., • Strong commercial awareness with experience managing project budgets and variations., • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills., • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities., • Positive, proactive and quality-focused approach to project delivery., • Collaborative leadership style with the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors., • Adaptable and resilient in a fast-paced operational environment., • Proven experience delivering electrical installation, refurbishment, upgrade and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) works., • Experience working on live operational sites with minimal disruption to client operations., • Strong understanding of electrical testing, commissioning and statutory compliance., • Experience administering projects under NEC3 and NEC4 contracts. Qualifications • Candidates should be qualified in an electrical discipline through a recognised apprenticeship, JIB/ECS accreditation, HNC/HND, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent industry-recognised qualification., • SMSTS (desirable), • Temporary Works or AP/SAP experience where relevant to project delivery., • UK Driving Licence
