Sense is currently recruiting for an Assistant Shop Manager to work 19.5 hours per week at our shop in Bishop Auckland, 38 Newgate Street, County Durham, on a permanent basis, paying £13.00 per hour. This is an exciting time to join our team and work in our network of over 120 shops as we continue our exciting shop growth programme. We are looking for someone to lead and inspire an enthusiastic team, drive delivery of standards, operational and customer service excellence – all to maximise vital income generation for the charity. Some key areas of ownership for the successful applicant include: • Building, training and inspiring a great team of volunteers, • Delivering superb shop standards, offer and customer engagement, • Driving stock generation and community engagement Each year, over four million people buy an item from us, so our shops play a pivotal role in raising brand awareness and income to make a difference to the lives of the people we support. Key skills and experience: • The successful applicant will need to be self-motivated, creative, a great communicator and positively committed to working in charity retail, • Experience of inspiring a team to provide excellent customer service, • An eye for detail that will ensure a safe, clean, and inviting environment for customers, staff, and volunteers, • Experience of working in a retail environment or within a team leader position This position requires the applicant to be willing to work Bank Holidays and weekends as required, and it is desirable that they have flexibility to work across 7 days of the week.
