We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven Store Manager to lead The Market—our busy on-campus convenience store at the heart of the University community. Serving over 10,000 customers each week and generating £1M+ annual turnover, this is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of a high-performing retail operation and make a real impact. You will be responsible for delivering excellent customer experience, leading a diverse team, and driving strong commercial performance across all aspects of the store. Key Responsibilities • Lead the day-to-day operations of The Market, ensuring high standards of availability, cleanliness, safety, and overall store presentation, • Drive commercial performance by managing stock control, ordering, supplier relationships, pricing, and minimising wastage, • Inspire, manage, and develop a diverse team, including recruitment, training, rota planning, and performance management, • Deliver an outstanding customer experience by resolving queries, supporting promotions, and maintaining a welcoming environment, • Monitor and analyse sales, margins, and stock data to improve performance and ensure profitability targets are met You will bring: • Proven experience in retail or food retail management, • Strong organisational and operational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, • A proactive, solutions-focused approach to problem solving and continuous improvement, • A passion for delivering excellent customer service and enhancing the customer experience, • The ability to lead, motivate, and develop a diverse team For an informal discussion about the role, please contact James Jeffery, Retail Operations Manager, at .
