Controls Engineer Siemens PLC & KUKA Robotics (FMCG Automation) Location: Norwich, UK Salary: Up to £55,000 (DOE) + Benefits Sector: Automation / Robotics / FMCG Manufacturing Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent About the Role Were looking for a talented Controls Engineer with hands-on experience in Siemens PLCs and KUKA robotics to join a leading automation systems integrator in Norwich . Youll work on innovative automation and robotics projects within the FMCG manufacturing sector designing, programming, and commissioning systems that enhance production efficiency, consistency, and reliability. This is a fantastic opportunity for an engineer who enjoys solving complex control challenges and seeing their work come to life on the factory floor. Key Responsibilities Design, program, and commission Siemens PLC and HMI systems using TIA Portal (S7, WinCC, Step 7). Configure and integrate KUKA industrial robots for automated handling, packaging, and palletising systems. Produce Functional Design Specifications (FDS) , control documentation, and electrical schematics. Carry out FAT, SAT, and site commissioning on automation projects across FMCG facilities. Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software teams to deliver turnkey control solutions. Provide on-site technical support, troubleshooting, and system optimisation. Skills & Experience Required Proven experience as a Controls Engineer , Automation Engineer , or Systems Integrator . Strong programming and commissioning experience with Siemens PLCs and HMI systems in TIA Portal . Experience working with KUKA robotics (programming, integration, and setup). Understanding of industrial communication protocols (Profinet, Profibus, Ethernet/IP). Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills. Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel for site work. Desirable Skills Experience with Allen-Bradley , Mitsubishi , or Omron PLC systems. Familiarity with robotic safety systems and machine integration . Background in FMCG , packaging , or high-speed production environments. TPBN1_UKTJ
