We specialise in Contestable Works up to 132kV, with capability to deliver projects on National Grid infrastructure up to 400kV. We're currently working on a major Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project at Staythorpe and are seeking an experienced Electrical Site Construction Supervisor to oversee and coordinate on-site delivery. The Role As an Electrical Site Construction Supervisor, you'll be responsible for supervising electrical installation works (LV/HV) on-site, ensuring all activities are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. You'll work closely with the Project Manager, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure delivery is “right first time.” Key Responsibilities • Supervise and coordinate LV/HV electrical installation works., • Oversee installation of switchgear, transformers, earthing, ducting, protection systems, and wiring., • Interpret and deliver works to electrical drawings and DNO specifications (e.g., G81)., • Manage and inspect above and below-ground installations., • Support electrical testing, commissioning, and quality checks., • Review RAMS and subcontractor documentation, ensuring compliance with scope of works., • Provide regular progress updates to the Project Manager., • Ensure compliance with NRSWA Section 50, NJUG guidelines, CDM regulations, HSG47, and health & safety standards. What We're Looking For • 5+ years' experience in LV/HV electrical installations (HV essential)., • Strong background with switchgear, transformers, substations, and generators., • Knowledge of DNO standards, G81 specifications, and industry best practices., • Experience supervising subcontractors on technical electrical site works., • Strong understanding of health & safety legislation (CDM, HSG47, etc.)., • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)., • Experience with works up to 132kV (preferred)., • Familiarity with DNO authorisations and SAP processes (desirable). A client of ours are looking for an Electrical Site Supervisor to assist the Site Manager with the electrical works on a 400kV substation project. This includes interfacing with and monitoring any subcontractors whilst feeding back the necessary information to the Site Manager. Responsibilities: - Ensure compliance to CDM regulations on site. - Ensure all setting to work procedures are followed - Ensure works are delivered to a programme whilst maintaining the highest standards of health and safety - Produce reports and provide information in a timely manner - To provide sufficient and timely supervision and guidance to ensure staff and sub-contractors are performing to agreed production levels - To maintain own levels of skill and knowledge to do the job effectively - To perform other duties as directed by your line manager or management team - To comply with the relevant Company HSQE and welfare policy provisions - To support clients and ensure all agreed KPIs are met or exceeded - Promote best practice, capture best practice and ensure it is fed-back into the business. - Lead by example in health, safety, quality & environmental management. - Ensure quality standards are met and maintained throughout the project and assist with the generation of as built drawings - Assist with the implementation of Safe Systems of Work including issuing Permits to Dig - Set others to work and monitor throughout the task / project Minimum Requirements: - Full UK driving licence - National Grid Competent Person NSI 6 & 8 - IOSHH Managing Safely or SMSTS or SSSTS - CSCS or CCNSG Safety Passport - Minimum 5 years' experience in the T&D industry, preferably on National Grid sites - Relevant previous experience at a supervisory level Desirable: - HNC / HND in Electrical Engineering - Formal Electrical training - Impressed Voltage training - IOSH environmental or equivalent - HSG47 Please click here to find out more about our Key Information Documents.
