Senior Retoucher & AI Image Specialist \n \n Location: Purley, Surrey (near Croydon) \n Salary: £40,000–£43,000 \n Working Pattern: 4 days in the studio | 1 day working from home \n Contract: Permanent \n \n The Opportunity \n The Fix Creative is recruiting on behalf of a long-established creative agency specialising in FMCG branding and packaging. We’re looking for an experienced Senior Retoucher & AI Image Specialist to join a highly talented image production team. \n This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives on producing exceptional, production-ready imagery while embracing the latest AI technology to enhance creative workflows. \n Please note: This role is based in the studio four days per week, with one day working from home. \n \n The Role \n This is a hands-on production role where you’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality retouching and image production across packaging, food & beverage, beauty, FMCG and brand communications. \n Working alongside designers, artworkers, photographers, CGI specialists and account teams, you’ll create accurate, consistent and production-ready imagery while using AI tools to enhance efficiency and creativity. \n \n Key Responsibilities \n Retouching & Image Production \n\n • Deliver exceptional retouching across packaging, branding and campaign projects.\n, • Produce complex compositing, colour correction, image reconstruction, texture work and photorealistic image enhancement.\n, • Create high-quality product, ingredient and lifestyle imagery for packaging and brand communications.\n, • Ensure imagery is consistent with brand guidelines and approved creative direction.\n, • Prepare artwork to meet print production standards and technical specifications.\n, • Maintain exceptional colour accuracy and attention to detail.\n, • Create product mock-ups, visualisations and presentation imagery.\n, • Organise and maintain image libraries and working assets.\n\n \n AI Image Creation \n\n • Use AI image-generation and enhancement tools as part of professional production workflows.\n, • Create, adapt and refine AI-generated imagery to meet creative and technical requirements.\n, • Combine traditional retouching, photography, CGI and AI-generated assets to produce believable final imagery.\n, • Explore new AI tools and workflows that improve quality and efficiency.\n, • Share knowledge and best practice with the wider creative team.\n, • Ensure AI is used responsibly, maintaining quality, copyright and confidentiality standards.\n\n, • \n Collaboration & Quality \n\n • Work closely with designers and creative leads to achieve the desired visual outcome.\n, • Collaborate with artwork and production teams to ensure imagery reproduces accurately in print.\n, • Take ownership of the quality and accuracy of final imagery.\n, • Support colleagues with technical retouching challenges.\n, • Manage multiple projects within a fast-paced agency environment.\n, • Contribute ideas to improve image production processes and workflows.\n\n, • \n About You \n You’re an experienced retoucher with exceptional technical ability, a sharp eye for detail and genuine enthusiasm for emerging AI technology. \n You enjoy working in a collaborative agency environment, can manage multiple deadlines and consistently produce outstanding creative work. \n \n Essential Experience \n This is the key requirement for the role. Candidates must have: \n \n\n • Commercial FMCG packaging retouching experience gained within a packaging, branding, advertising or creative agency. Applications without FMCG packaging retouching experience are unlikely to be considered.\n, • Advanced Adobe Photoshop skills.\n, • Extensive experience in compositing, colour correction, image reconstruction and photorealistic image enhancement.\n, • Practical experience using AI image-generation or image-enhancement tools within creative workflows.\n, • Strong understanding of colour, lighting, texture, perspective and image realism.\n, • Knowledge of packaging design, print production and colour management.\n, • Meticulous attention to detail.\n, • Excellent communication, organisation and time management skills.\n, • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a creative team.\n\n Desirable Experience \n\n • Food, beverage, beauty or wider FMCG brand experience.\n, • Experience integrating CGI or 3D-rendered assets into photographic imagery.\n, • Packaging mock-ups and product visualisation experience.\n, • Interest in workflow automation and emerging creative technologies.\n\n What Success Looks Like \n\n • Consistently delivering high-quality, production-ready imagery.\n, • Reliable delivery against project deadlines.\n, • Using AI to enhance, not replace, established creative workflows.\n, • Building strong collaborative relationships across design, artwork and production teams.\n, • Contributing to the continued development of the agency’s image production capability.\n\n
