Core Responsibilities Install and maintain FTTP/FTTH networks, including both underground and aerial (overhead) fibre cabling, ensuring safe and correct setup to customer premises. Terminate, splice (fusion/mechanical), and test fibre optics, using OTDRs, power meters, fusion splicers, and optical connectors to ensure proper signal strength and alignment. Plan and interpret installation diagrams or blueprints, surveying routes and preparing installation plans ahead of deployment. Troubleshoot faults, diagnose issues in fiber connections, and resolve or escalate as needed. Engage with customers, explaining installed systems and answering queries (occasionally upselling add-ons where applicable). Work in diverse conditions, including confined spaces (basements, crawlspaces), heights (ladders, poles), and all weather environments. Ensure compliance and maintain paperwork, including quality standards, safety procedures, job records, and equipment logs. --- Qualifications & Requirements Accreditations required, SA001, SLG (NRSWA), SA008 (working at height/roofs), as well as DBS checks Valid UK driving licence is compulsory Basic education and technical aptitude are expected.
