Fractional Finance Director Dunfermline, Fife Part-Time / Fractional Competitive Day Rate: £300 - £500 per day Self-employed An intensive 1-3 week period within the business to establish stronger financial controls, reporting and processes. This is not simply an accounting role—a commercially minded Finance Director is needed to understand how individual divisions perform and provide clear, accurate financial information for better decision-making. • Full review of current financial position and processes, • P&L reporting across the Group and individual divisions, • Establishing true gross and net margins, • Job costing and profitability by product/division, • Labour and material cost analysis, • Break-even analysis, • Cash-flow forecasting, • Budgets and financial targets, • Overhead and cost review, • WIP and pipeline reporting, • Financial controls and processes, • Management accounts and monthly reporting, • Creation of simple financial dashboards/KPIs for Directors, • Identifying areas of financial leakage and opportunities to improve profitability Following the initial project, remain involved with the Group on a fractional basis for days per month, working alongside the existing accounts/administration team while providing higher-level financial leadership and commercial insight to the Directors. • Finance Director, CFO, Financial Controller or senior commercial finance experience within an SME, • Experience within construction, home improvements, manufacturing, installations or project/job-costing environment (particularly valuable), • Strong on margins, job costing and profitability, • Experienced with cash-flow forecasting and management accounts, • Experienced with Xero or similar accounting systems, • Commercially focused and hands-on, • Comfortable challenging existing processes, • Able to turn financial data into clear actions for management, • Comfortable working within a growing entrepreneurial business Head Office and Showroom based in Dunfermline.
