The post is designed with flexibility and can be extended to a full-time (10 PA) role by combining with 4 PAs in either the North Eating Disorders Service or the Crisis Team. \n Alternatively, a 7 PA portfolio can be created by adding a session in the Care for Children’s team. This opportunity is ideal for newly qualified (post-CCT) or experienced consultants who wish to tailor their role to their clinical interests, whether focusing on specialist expertise, leadership, medical education or building a broader portfolio career. \nMain duties of the job\n\n • The successful candidate will join a well-established and experienced Tier 3 Community CAMHS multidisciplinary team. They will join three other consultants, a GP trainee, and a core trainee, providing psychiatric support to the team.\n, • They will be based at Rochdale CAMHS, Birch Hill Hospital, Rochdale, OL12 9RD.\n, • The post is a replacement due to one existing consultant partially retiring and the 6 sessions becoming available.\n, • The post holder will work as part of a comprehensive CAMHS team with special responsibility for designated clinical pathways as per discussions and areas of interest.\n, • The post is managed within the Trust’s CAMHS Care Hub, joining a dynamic, supportive, and expanding Consultant group of 20.\n, • The post is suitable for an experienced Consultant, or a suitably qualified Speciality Trainee (ST6).\n, • Provide a Child Psychiatric Service for young people up to 18 years in Rochdale, Heywood, and Middleton, assessing and managing children and adolescents with complex needs.\n, • Take clinical responsibility for an overall caseload, see ~24 new cases per annum, manage up to 40–50 follow‑up cases.\n, • Adhere to policies, maintain records, confidentiality, administer outpatient clinics, and discharge procedures.\n, • Hold six sessions in generic CAMHS.\n, • Take a clinical leadership role, work effectively in multidisciplinary team, manage referrals, care planning, CPA reviews, liaison with CAMHS, Local Authority, Adult Mental Health Services, and Community Paediatrics.\n, • Apply Care Programme Approach, New Mental Health Act, Children Act, Mental Capacity Act when required.\n, • Work in partnership with other professionals and agencies, provide regular consultation.\n, • Potential future opportunity to be nominated clinical supervisor/trainer to CT trainee or GP trainee.\n, • Contribute to team supervision, share supervision, provide case‑by‑case supervision/consultation.\n, • Attend monthly peer supervision meetings; receive individual supervision per case or regular sessions.\n, • Provide mutual consultant leave cover for annual and study leave with colleagues.\n\nEquality, Diversity and Inclusion\n All individuals regardless of race, age, disability, ethnicity, nationality, gender, gender reassignment, sexual orientation, religion or belief, marriage and civil partnership are encouraged to apply for this post. \nBenefits\n\n • Generous annual leave entitlement for Agenda for Change and Medical and Dental staff.\n, • Flexible working opportunities.\n, • Access to Continued Professional Development.\n, • Involvement in improvement and research activities.\n, • Health and Wellbeing activities and access to an excellent staff wellbeing service.\n, • Access to staff discounts across retail, leisure and travel.\n\nPerson specification\nEducational Qualifications\n\n, • Full GMC Registration\n\nProfessional/Occupational Qualifications\n\n, • Possession of CCT in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, or within 6 months of achieving this or entered on the GMC Specialist Register.\n, • Section 12 Approval under Mental Health Act 183, or eligibility.\n, • Experience in the use of the Mental Health Act (1983).\n\nJob Training\n\n, • Demonstrable competency across the PMETB approved curriculum for higher training in Child and Adolescent psychiatry.\n, • Area of special interest and expertise.\n\nJob Experience\n\n, • Registered for CPD with the RCPsych.\n\n#J-18808-Ljbffr
