Mechanical / Plumbing Engineer Location: Central London Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week (Monday-Friday, 08:00-16:30) Additional: On‑call and weekend work required on a 1-in-5 rota Contract: Permanent Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience Closing Date: Sunday 1st February 2026 About the Role We are looking for a skilled Mechanical/Plumbing Engineer to join our Estates team. In this vital role, you'll help deliver a first‑class building maintenance service across our main site and satellite facilities. You'll work across reactive, planned and project maintenance, ensuring our environment is safe, reliable and fully operational for staff, visitors and patients. This isn't just another maintenance role - you'll be part of a team with real purpose, directly supporting an environment where people's health and wellbeing come first. What You'll Do Carry out mechanical plant PPMs including AHUs, split units, fan coils, compressors, filter changes, control troubleshooting, minor repairs and plumbing tasks Support cross‑discipline PPMs including water safety tasks, patient room maintenance and general handyman duties Work proactively through planned preventive maintenance schedules Respond to emergency and reactive maintenance requests Prioritise work efficiently to ensure minimal disruption Supervise external contractors as required Ensure all work complies with Health & Safety and COSHH guidelines Participate in the on‑call rota and occasional shift work Complete accurate work documentation and reports Support Estates projects as needed Willingness to undertake overtime and out‑of-hours workWhat You'll Bring Relevant qualifications such as City & Guilds, NVQ in Mechanical Engineering, or Building Services Engineering Experience within a hospital or similar critical environment is highly desirable Strong understanding of Health & Safety and COSHH General understanding of fire safety regulations Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly A proactive, flexible approach to work Strong teamwork and problem‑solving abilitiesWhat We Offer We're committed to supporting your career, development and wellbeing.
