Payroll Specialist (12-Month Fixed Term Contract)\n\n📍 West London (Fully Office Based)\n 💷 £32,000 per annum\n 📄 12-month Fixed Term Contract\n\nWe are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join the Human Resources team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role is responsible for delivering a high standard of payroll services for both local and expatriate employees, ensuring accuracy, compliance and timely processing.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nPayroll & Systems Administration\n\nMaintain and update payroll systems with new starters, leavers, changes to benefits, employment status and other amendments in a timely and accurate manner\n\nMaintain monthly payroll files covering starters, leavers, bonuses and all payroll changes\n\nAct as first point of contact for the staff appraisal system, including implementation and ongoing monitoring\n\nManage and monitor the Time and Attendance system (Darwinbox)\n\nSupport contract renewals and prepare approval notes for management\n\nEnsure compliance with Data Protection legislation\n\nPayroll Processing\n\nCheck and process all monthly payroll changes on ADP and commit payroll accurately and on time\n\nProcess statutory year-end activities including P60s, P11Ds and payroll returns\n\nHandle employee payroll and salary queries for both local and expatriate staff\n\nCreate, maintain and continuously improve payroll processes\n\nProduce payroll reports in line with HR and business requirements\n\nPensions, Tax & Reconciliations\n\nReconcile pension files and payments and liaise with pension providers\n\nManage season ticket loans and personal loans and submit monthly control returns\n\nReconcile payroll postings to the general ledger and resolve discrepancies\n\nEnsure timely and accurate PAYE and NI payments\n\nManage third-party payments to HMRC\n\nExpatriate Payroll & Tax\n\nCompile payroll and benefits data for expatriate payroll processing\n\nLiaise with external tax advisors for tax returns, PSA and P11Ds\n\nAssist expatriates with HMRC and NI number applications\n\nEnsure all joiner and leaver documentation is available for payroll processing\n\nAdditional Responsibilities\n\nProcess invoices and manage petty cash\n\nSupport the HR team with additional administrative duties as required\n\nUndertake any other duties as delegated by the Head of HR\n\nSkills & Competencies\n\nResults-driven with strong attention to detail\n\nExcellent numerical and analytical skills\n\nStrong organisational and self-management abilities\n\nConfident communicator with strong interpersonal skills\n\nAble to work to deadlines in a fast-paced, office-based environment\n\nPerson Specification\n\nProficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word\n\nExperience operating payroll systems (ADP preferred)\n\nKnowledge of basic accounting is essential\n\nPrevious experience in a payroll-focused role, ideally including expatriate payroll
