Client Accountant (AAT)\n £31,032 – £36,653 per annum | Full Time | Grimsby (Office-Based) \n We are currently supporting a well-regarded and forward-thinking firm as they recruit for a Client Accountant to join their growing team. This role offers a different approach to a traditional accounts position, combining core compliance work with a strong focus on client interaction, advisory support, and business development. The Role\n The successful candidate will manage a varied portfolio while delivering both compliance services and value-added advisory support, working closely with clients throughout their financial year. \n Key Responsibilities: \n\n • Manage a portfolio of clients including limited companies, sole traders, partnerships, and individuals\n, • Prepare and oversee year-end accounts, tax returns, bookkeeping, and VAT work\n, • Provide proactive business advisory and development support to clients\n, • Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a main point of contact\n, • Keep clients informed on progress across all areas of service delivery\n, • Review work completed by team members to ensure high standards are met\n, • Support, develop, and motivate junior staff members\n, • Identify opportunities to introduce additional services based on client needs\nAbout the Candidate\n Skills, Qualifications & Experience: \n\n • AAT Level 4 qualified (minimum requirement)\n, • Experience within a general practice environment, supporting owner-managed businesses\n, • Strong knowledge of accounts preparation and taxation\n, • Excellent written and verbal communication skills\n, • Ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues\n, • Strong organisational and time management skills\n, • Experience with cloud-based software such as Sage, Xero, or QuickBooks\n, • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel\n, • Full UK driving licence\nThe Opportunity\n Salary & Benefits: \n\n • £31,032 – £36,653 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications\n, • Employer pension contribution of 5% (on earnings above £6,240), matched via salary sacrifice\n, • Overtime paid at full salary rate and included as pensionable earnings\n\n Work-Life Balance: \n\n • 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm, 30-minute break)\n, • Flexible working options available, including adjusted hours and some home working\n, • 28 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays\n\n Career Development & Support: \n\n • Fully funded professional qualifications and subscriptions\n, • CPD supported during working hours\n, • Regular team (“Pod”) meetings for collaboration\n, • Quarterly one-to-one development reviews\n\n Office Environment: \n\n • Modern, purpose-built office\n, • Fully equipped kitchen facilities\n, • Breakout area promoting a positive working culture\n\n \n
