    QSR Area Manager within Essex Area. The area Manager is responsible for the overall operational, commercial and people performance of the stores within their assigned area. Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership • Oversee the day-to-day performance of all assigned corporate stores., • Ensure stores open and close on time and operate in line with company standards and procedures., • Maintain consistently high standards across food quality, cleanliness, customer service, health and safety, and overall store presentation., • Support stores operationally where required, including during peak periods, manager absence, staffing shortages or other business-critical situations., • Conduct regular store visits and operational reviews, recording findings and actions as required., • Ensure store managers complete all required administration, checks and reporting accurately and on time. Commercial Performance • Take full ownership of store P&L performance, ensuring financial targets are achieved and stores operate in line with business objectives., • Drive store sales, labour efficiency, food cost control and overall profitability across the area., • Review KPI performance regularly and implement clear action plans where standards or targets are not being met., • Analyse store performance data, including sales, labour, food variance, wastage, coupon use, remakes, edited orders and voids, and act on trends promptly., • Review aggregator performance and ensure appropriate analysis and follow-up action is taken to support sales and operational standards., • Work closely with Head Office to support and execute marketing plans, promotions and local sales initiatives across stores., • Contact and engage with local businesses to build sales opportunities, local partnerships and wider brand presence within each store’s trading area. People Management and Development • Lead, coach and support Store Managers to deliver strong operational and commercial results., • Build capable, accountable and engaged store management teams., • Support recruitment activity where required, including advertising, interviewing, onboarding and induction., • Ensure effective training is delivered across stores and that managers and team members are developed in line with business needs., • Promote internal progression and support succession planning across the area., • Act as a mentor and escalation point for Store Managers and provide practical support in resolving day-to-day people challenges., • Work closely with HR where required on investigations, formal meetings, employee relations matters and performance concerns. Compliance and Standards • Ensure all assigned stores remain compliant with legal, regulatory and company requirements., • Manage and complete regulatory compliance applications where required, including business rates, extended hours and pavement licences., • Ensure stores maintain required records, checks and procedures relating to food safety, health and safety, security and operational compliance., • Drive compliance with audit requirements, including OER standards, HACCP, PRP, vehicle checks, accident reporting and any other internal or external compliance obligations., • Ensure working standards are maintained for CCTV, alarms, fire safety systems, uniform, administration and all required operational controls., • Lead and drive the resolution of maintenance issues across stores, ensuring timely action and minimal disruption to operations. Planning and Control • Monitor labour scheduling to ensure stores are appropriately resourced in line with forecasted sales and business needs., • Review rotas, staffing levels and labour usage to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities., • Support Store Managers with forecasting, planning and operational organisation to improve consistency and performance., • Monitor food ordering, stock accuracy, food transfers and inventory discipline to support cost control and minimise waste., • Ensure key business priorities, promotional activity and operational requirements are clearly communicated and executed across stores. Store Visits and Oversight The Area Manager is expected to maintain a regular presence across their stores and complete visits which may include: • Operational standards reviews, • Opening and closing checks, • Paperwork and admin reviews, • HACCP and compliance reviews, • Training observations and coaching, • Stock and inventory checks, • Rush period support, • Manager meetings and action planning, • Wellbeing and engagement check-ins All visits, findings and follow-up actions must be recorded in the appropriate company systems. Skills, Knowledge and Experience • Proven experience in a multi-site quick service restaurant and delivery management role., • Extensive knowledge and experience of third party delivery platforms., • Strong understanding of store operations, people management and performance improvement., • Experience managing KPIs, labour, costs and operational compliance., • Ability to lead, coach and influence managers and teams effectively., • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple stores and issues at pace., • Commercially aware, with the ability to identify risks, inefficiencies and growth opportunities., • Confident using systems, reports and data to support decision-making., • Resilient, hands-on and solution-focused, with a willingness to support stores directly when required., • Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with Head Office departments. We are going after it. al volo is one shop in the City of London, cooking the full Italian table from scratch every morning: a hot main, two sides, focaccia to finish. That is the Nonna's Box. We are 4.9 stars on Google and 4.9 on Deliveroo, and we have never spent a penny on advertising to get there. The food did that. We need someone to run the shop properly, so we can get on with building the rest of it. The honest version We are small. Two founders, one site, a kitchen and a counter. Ale runs the food. Elena runs the brand and the commercial side. There is no head office, no HR department, and nobody else to hand a problem to. This seat has just come free. Rather than look for someone to fill the same shoes, we sat down and worked out what the business actually needs. This is that job, and it is a bigger one. Some days here are messy. Things change. You will get real responsibility far faster than you would anywhere else, and nobody is going to hold your hand through it. That is the deal. We think it is a good one. What you will own The opening. You are first in. You unlock, you set up, you get the machines on and the counter ready before the first customer walks in at 7. The kitchen team join you around 8. The morning is yours. Breakfast. We are launching a proper Italian breakfast in September: pick your base, pick your toppings, low prep, fast. You will set it up, run it, watch what sells and tell us what to change. It is a brand new revenue line and you are the one building it. The coffee. You are on the machine through the morning. Italian espresso standards, at speed, with a smile for the regulars. The lunch rush. From 11:30 you lead the floor: counter flow, queue moving, display full and looking right, Deliveroo out on time, everyone in the right place. The shop. Rotas, stock, standards, compliance. Temperature logs, cleaning records, allergens, food safety. Not glamorous. Completely non-negotiable. Yours. Real budgets. Coffee and bar, packaging, waste, and in time your own front-of-house hours. We will teach you how all of it works. Then we will expect you to have opinions about it. The shop when we are not in it. Decisions get made. Problems get solved. Nothing sits waiting for a founder to come back. Your first 90 days Month one. Learn the shop properly: behind the counter, on the machine, on the floor. Get to know the team and the regulars. Set the baselines on the numbers you are about to own. Month two. Launch breakfast with us. Take the bar, packaging and consumables budgets. Month three. Take the front-of-house rota and the labour budget. Tell us the three things you want to change, and start changing them. Who we are looking for You have run a site, a floor or a shift somewhere busy, and you were good at it. You know your way around an espresso machine, properly. You are organised in a way other people can see. But mostly: you are the person who spots the thing that is wrong and fixes it before anyone asks. Who has ideas and says them out loud. Who wants to build something rather than just work somewhere. This job is not for you if: You want a job that stops the second the clock says so You need a manual, a policy and a manager to check it "That is not my job" is a sentence you have used recently You would rather be comfortable than be part of something It is for you if you want to look at something in three years and know you helped build it. You will need: Experience leading a team in hospitality, retail or food service Real barista skills. We are serious about coffee. Half Million Café is seeking a Store Manager to oversee the UK brand and administrative functions, while working closely with our operations team to drive efficiency, growth, and exceptional customer experiences. Half Million was founded in 2018 in Saudi Arabia. Named after its initial investment amount, Half Million is rapidly expanding, regularly opening new stores across Saudi Arabia. We are seeking enthusiastic team members to join the Flagship store in London and be part of our exciting international journey. As a Store Manager at Half Million Café, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping our coffee culture. Key Responsibilities • Work closely with the Operations team to implement business strategies that increase sales, profitability, and customer satisfaction., • Manage the daily running of the café, ensuring high standards across product quality, customer experience, and team performance., • Take a hands-on approach, supporting floor operations during peak times, including barista and service duties., • Hire, train, and supervise baristas, floor staff, and kitchen team members., • Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations., • Monitor and maintain inventory, ensuring adequate stock levels and minimising waste., • Control labour costs, manage scheduling, and oversee rota planning while maintaining operational efficiency., • Manage financial performance including budgeting, reporting, and cost control., • Implement and enforce company policies, operational procedures, and administrative protocols., • Handle customer feedback and resolve issues efficiently and professionally., • Maintain equipment, facilities, and overall store presentation to high standards., • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, vendors, and customers., • Keep up to date with market trends, customer preferences, and best practices in the café industry., • Support team development through coaching, performance reviews, and career progression planning., • Manage employee relations matters professionally, addressing queries and concerns fairly and in collaboration with HR., • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including HR, Finance, and Operations to ensure alignment and smooth running of business functions. Requirements • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Café Store Manager, General Manager, or similar leadership role., • Strong hands-on management approach, with experience actively supporting day-to-day café operations., • Experience in high-standard service environments is preferred., • Coffee industry experience is a strong advantage., • Excellent customer service and conflict resolution skills., • Proven leadership ability with experience motivating and developing teams., • Understanding of HR practices, including performance management and staff engagement., • Knowledge of KPIs, labour costs, and basic financial reporting., • Strong business and financial awareness, with the ability to support forecasting and cost control., • Experience working closely with cross-functional teams, including HR, Finance, and Operations., • Excellent communication, organisational, and time management skills. Pay: £38,000.00 - £43,000.00 per year
