PV Engineer/ Technician – Solar Farm\n\nSalary: £45,000 – £60,000 per year (DOE)\n\nJob Type: Full-time, permanent\n\nLocation: Sites across the UK (region-based)\n\nSchedule: Monday–Friday with a paid weekend rota (approx. 1 in 5 weekends) and occasional overnight stays\n\nWhy this is a great opportunity\n\nOur client is one of Europe’s leading solar-energy firms, responsible for building, running, and maintaining large-scale solar farms across the UK and further afield.\n\nWith a global track record of over 500 solar projects and more than 5.6 GW of installed capacity worldwide, our client takes a forward-looking approach to renewable energy and invests in its teams.\n\nWorking with them means you contribute directly to the green energy transition in the UK — a meaningful role that helps power communities and supports long-term environmental goals.\n\nWhat You’ll Do\n\n * Carry out routine maintenance, inspections, and remedial work on solar PV systems (AC & DC)\n\n * Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive fixes as needed\n\n * Diagnose and resolve electrical faults, using industry-standard testing equipment (multimeters, clamp meters, insulation testers, etc.)\n\n * Produce clear, accurate site reports after each visit via the online reporting system\n\n * Conduct job-specific risk assessments, report near-misses, and ensure strict health & safety compliance\n\n * Supervise and coordinate third-party contractors when required\n\n * Maintain detailed electrical test records, suitable for audits\n\n * Work occasional nights away or on weekends (with extra pay)\n\nWhat They’re Looking For?\n\nEssential\n\n * 3+ years’ experience on utility-scale, ground-mounted Solar PV O&M projects\n\n * Level 3 City & Guilds / NVQ in Electrical Installations\n\n * C&G 2382-18\n\n * C&G 2391-52 (or equivalent testing qualification)\n\n * HV AP qualification\n\n * Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills\n\n * Solid understanding of AC & DC systems and experience using testing tools\n\n * Full UK driving licence\n\nDesirable\n\n * Harness-trained (or willingness to complete training)\n\n * First Aid and Fire Marshal training\n\n * IOSH Health & Safety qualification (or willingness to train)\n\n * Experience with central inverters, SCADA, CCTV or battery-storage integration\n\n * Familiarity with high-voltage systems (33 kV) and associated switching / maintenance\n\nBenefits & Perks\n\n * Bonus up to 12.5% (performance / KPI based)\n\n * Private pension with employer contributions up to 6%\n\n * Full private health cover (option to extend to family)\n\n * Life insurance at 4× annual salary\n\n * Access to perks via employee benefit platform\n\n * 33 days’ holiday (including bank holidays)\n\n * Structured training and career-development opportunities\n\n * Be part of a meaningful mission — supporting the UK’s shift to renewable energy\n\nWhy would you choose our client?\n\nBy joining them, you become part of an international team that’s shaping the future of energy.
