About the role. We are looking for an energetic kitchen porter to join the team at our Borough Market restaurant. The Kitchen Porter plays a crucial role in supporting the kitchen staff by ensuring that the kitchen is clean, organised, and well-equipped for food preparation. This position is ideal for individuals looking to start their career in the culinary field or those with experience in restaurants, hotels, or other hospitality settings. Responsibilities. • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, pots, and pans., • Assist with food preparation tasks as directed by chefs, including chopping vegetables and preparing ingredients., • Ensure all kitchen equipment is cleaned and stored properly after use., • Help with the loading and unloading of deliveries, ensuring that stock is stored correctly., • Support the culinary team during busy service periods by providing assistance where needed., • Follow health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment., • Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the kitchen management team.
