He also enjoys attending the pub, playing pool and is a massive football fan! Due to being a smoker, you will need to be comfortable supporting him in this environment. The person we support likes to spend weekends away so you may at some point be expected to take him on holiday. We're looking for someone who is calm under pressure, dependable and committed to providing high-quality, person-centred support. Most importantly, you'll need to be comfortable and confident supporting someone when their behaviour can be challenging. Remaining calm, patient and consistent. Shifts typically run between 10am-10pm however hours may differ to support individuals needs. Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and be committed to working towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with the support from our Training Academy. If you're successful in joining our team, we will need you to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting your employment with us. If you have spent more than 12 months out with the UK (excluding France, Germany. Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania or Spain) within the last 10 years while over the age of 18, you will be asked to provide a criminal record certificate from the relevant government/police authority as part of our pre-employment checks.
