Mechanical Fitter Location: Near Uxbridge, Middlesex Salary: £35,500 + excellent benefits Hours: Monday–Thursday 08:00–17:00, Friday 08:00–12:00 We’re recruiting for a Mechanical Fitter to join a highly respected British engineering manufacturer producing complex, safety-critical aerospace equipment. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in precision assembly, aerospace manufacturing, or other high-spec engineering environments. Working within Final Assembly, you’ll be building and inspecting intricate mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies to exact technical and quality standards. Mechanical Fitter Benefits • £35,500 salary, • 9% non-contributory pension, • 25 days holiday + bank holidays, • Early finish every Friday, • Healthcare Cash Plan, • 4x Life Assurance, • Subsidised canteen, • Cycle to Work scheme, • Retail discounts platform, • Ongoing training and development, • Opportunity to purchase additional holiday What you’ll be doing • Assembling seat pans, mechanisms, main beams, guide rails and survival kit assemblies, • Working from engineering drawings, technical specifications and kits of parts, • Using hand tools, torque equipment and assembly tooling, • Carrying out self-inspection and quality checks on completed work, • Conducting stage inspections and certification of assemblies, • Using SAP / shop floor terminals to update work in progress and component tracking, • Ensuring parts are built to exact technical, quality and production standards, • Supporting 5S and continuous improvement initiatives, • Maintaining FOD control and ESD awareness in the work area What they’re looking for • Experience in a manufacturing, assembly or precision engineering environment, • Ability to read and understand engineering / technical drawings, • Experience using basic hand tools and assembly equipment, • Strong attention to detail and quality standards, • Comfortable working to production schedules and procedures, • Basic IT skills, • Experience with SAP would be beneficial, • Aerospace, defence, automotive or other regulated industry experience is desirable Important – Please Read Before Applying This role will be subject to BPSS clearance before employment can begin.
