This is a whole-time 12 month FTC post offering an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated doctor to join a dynamic, rapidly expanding team delivering multidisciplinary critical care medicine in a multi award winning Critical Care Unit. Southport Hospital is part of the Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals. Applicants are required to be fully registered with the General Medical Council, and to be on the Specialist Register. Due to current service demands, we are only able to consider applicants who have relevant UK experience. Candidates must also be available to commence employment immediately or within a very short timeframe. We regret that we cannot progress applications that do not meet these essential requirements. The appointee is expected to be involved in the department’s undergraduate, postgraduate and Nurse Specialist teaching and other appropriate educational activities. The appointee will be actively involved as a Clinical Supervisor but will not be directly responsible for educational supervision at least initially (this is to be reviewed at job planning). The appointee will have a responsibility for the running of their clinical service, integrating this with the department as a whole and ensuring appropriate communication with general practitioners, managers, and hospital committees. The appointee will be responsible for contributing to the achievement of relevant aspects of the Trust’s contractual obligations and business plans.
