Job Title: ESOL Trainer (Adult Education) Location: Cardiff (On-site) Salary: £32,000 per annum Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent Role Overview We are seeking an experienced ESOL Trainer to support adult learners in improving their English language and employability skills. This role plays a critical part in a government-funded programme aimed at helping unemployed individuals develop the communication skills they need to access sustainable employment. You will deliver high-quality ESOL training across a range of levels, tailored to jobseekers entering various sectors such as customer service and administration. Sessions are delivered both one-to-one and in group settings, in-person and occasionally online. Key Responsibilities • Deliver engaging ESOL training (pre-entry to Level 3) with an employability focus, • Conduct diagnostic assessments and develop tailored learning plans, • Collaborate with employment advisors to align learning with job outcomes, • Support learners with guidance on further education or training routes, • Create and adapt learning materials for face-to-face and online use, • Maintain accurate records of learner progress and session delivery, • Promote attendance, progression, and course completion, • Occasionally travel to other local centres as required Essential Skills & Experience • Level 3 Award in Education and Training (or equivalent teaching qualification), • Experience delivering ESOL and/or employability training to adults, • Understanding of adult learning methods, especially in welfare-to-work settings, • Strong communication and planning skills, • Ability to motivate and support learners facing barriers to employment, • Confident in both classroom and online delivery formats, • Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain) Desirable: • Level 4+ teaching qualification (e.g., CertEd, PGCE), • Experience working with DWP, AEB, or other government-funded contracts, • Familiarity with learner management systems and online platforms
