Electrical & Mechanical Building Services Technician \n Permanent | Hatfield | £45,000 – £47,000 \n OverviewWe are seeking a skilled Electrical & Mechanical Building Services Technician to join our Estates Engineering team. This role is responsible for ensuring the reliable and compliant operation of estate-wide services and equipment across a large, multi-functional facility. \n Key Responsibilities \n\n • Deliver high standards of mechanical and electrical services throughout the facility.\n, • Plan and undertake routine scheduled maintenance of plant and equipment with minimal disruption to operations.\n, • Participate in on-call rota (1 in 6), including weekend and bank holiday site checks.\n, • Work staggered shifts:\n \n, • Week 1: 07:30 – 16:00\n, • Week 2: 09:30 – 18:00\n \n\n Essential Qualifications & Skills \n\n • Qualification in either:\n \n, • Electrical engineering (BS7671 & C&G 2391)\n, • Mechanical engineering (full-term apprenticeship)\n \n, • Strong verbal and written communication skills.\n, • Multi-skilled in electrical and mechanical engineering.\n, • Experience with:\n \n, • Domestic and low-temperature hot water systems (LTHW)\n, • Motor controls and relay logic\n, • AHUs, FCUs, and chilled water systems\n \n, • Good awareness of Health & Safety and safe systems of work.\n, • Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.\n, • Flexible to work outside standard hours when required.\n, • Competent in using Windows-based systems and CMMS/BMS platforms.\n\n Desirable \n\n • ONC/HNC qualification.\n, • Experience in controlled environments.\n, • Knowledge of water systems and water treatment.\n\n What We Offer \n\n • Competitive salary and benefits package.\n, • Learning and development opportunities.\n, • Supportive and collaborative working environment.\n, • Additional perks such as free parking, subsidised restaurant, and well-being programmes.\n
