Python Developer, NumPy, Pandas, COR7433D This is a great time for a junior-to-mid-level Python Developer, to consider joining an established Oxfordshire-based scale-up in the Medtech sector. The Python Developer will be joining a dedicated R&D team that leverage machine and deep learning for the computer vision and signal processing algorithms that underpin an innovative patient-monitoring platform, deployed in 100s of hospitals across the UK and US. Using existing Python skills to support the research, development, deployment and monitoring of deep-learning enabled products into hospitals, the Python Developer will work with a variety of technologies including the Python scientific stack (NumPy, Pandas, SciPy, etc.), frameworks such as OpenCV, PyTorch, TensorFlow and JAX, data pipeline tools such as Airflow or Prefect and data processing tools such as Spark or Databricks. In this role, you will play a crucial part in developing the software components that enable the safe and reliable operation of AI-enabled robotics and autonomous systems within our core product line. Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, and implement robotic software components and algorithms for perception, planning, control, and decision-making., • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including embedded software engineers, systems architects, and AI/ML experts, to seamlessly integrate software components into the overall system., • Conduct rigorous testing, optimisation, and validation of robotic software components to ensure strict compliance with safety and performance requirements., • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the team's software development processes, tooling, and methodologies for robotic systems., • Stay up to date with the latest advancements in robotics software, algorithms, and frameworks, applying them to enhance product capabilities., • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior software engineers and interns. Key Skills and Experience • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Aerospace, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (with a strong focus on robotics software development)., • Proven track record of developing software for robotic systems and delivering safety-critical or mission-critical systems., • Proficiency in C/C++ and Python, with solid experience in robotics frameworks (e.g., ROS, Gazebo, MoveIt)., • Strong knowledge of robotics algorithms and techniques, including perception, planning, control, and decision-making., • Solid understanding of software development methodologies, such as Agile, Continuous Integration (CI), and Test-Driven Development (TDD)., • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills., • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively within cross-functional teams., • Security Clearance: Must currently hold or be eligible to obtain a minimum of UK SC clearance., • Desirable: Experience with safety-critical software development standards and certification processes (e.g., DO-178C, ISO 26262, IEC 61508) is highly advantageous.
