You will respond quickly to breakdowns, investigate faults, carry out repairs and support improvements to equipment reliability and performance.You will also support health, safety, welfare and biosecurity standards across the hatchery, while keeping accurate maintenance records and contributing to continuous improvement activity.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain incubators, hatchers and associated hatchery equipmentCarry out planned preventative maintenance across production and site equipmentRespond quickly to breakdowns and equipment faultsDiagnose and repair electrical and mechanical issuesMaintain automatic handling systems and production machineryInvestigate faults and implement timely corrective actionsSupport improvements to equipment reliability and performanceCarry out servicing, repairs and general engineering supportSupport engineering projects, upgrades and equipment installationsMaintain accurate maintenance and breakdown recordsSupport health, safety, welfare and biosecurity standardsLiaise with the Maintenance Manager on current and future equipment issuesSupport spare parts control, workshop standards and stores housekeepingWhat Were Looking ForWe are looking for a practical, hands-on engineer who can diagnose faults quickly, take ownership and keep production equipment running.You could be working as a:Multi-Skilled Maintenance EngineerElectrical Maintenance EngineerMaintenance EngineerShift EngineerEngineering TechnicianMaintenance TechnicianFMCG EngineerManufacturing EngineerProduction EngineerYou will need:Mechanical and electrical maintenance experienceStrong electrical fault-finding skillsRecognised mechanical and/or electrical engineering qualificationExperience in production, manufacturing, food manufacturing, FMCG, automated handling, hatchery, agricultural processing or a similar environmentGood understanding of planned and reactive maintenanceA proactive, responsible and safety-conscious approachStrong attention to detailGood organisational skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamWillingness to work a 4 on 4 off days and nights shift patternPrevious hatchery maintenance experience would be beneficial, but it is not essential.
