Operating predominantly within the social housing sector, the business delivers a wide range of projects including building safety and fire remediation works such as recladding, passive fire protection, compartmentation, and fire door installations. They also undertake commercial-to-residential conversion schemes. Project values typically range from £1m to £15m, with clear ambitions to expand into larger-scale developments. Despite being recently established, the company has experienced impressive growth, already securing 80% of its projected 2026 turnover. The Role - Senior Quantity Surveyor Location: City of London Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team based in the City of London, overseeing a portfolio of live projects across London and the surrounding areas. The successful candidate will take full responsibility for the commercial, financial, and contractual management of multiple fire remediation schemes within a main contracting environment. This is a key role focused on driving profitability, ensuring cost certainty, managing risk, and maintaining contractual compliance across all projects. Experience with PCSA (Pre-Construction Services Agreements) and/or a background in refurbishment or fire protection works will be highly advantageous. Key Responsibilities • Take ownership of project financial performance and gross margin delivery, • Review and approve cost reports, valuations, variations, and payments, • Identify, manage, and report on financial risks and opportunities, • Lead the timely agreement of final accounts, • Administer contracts in line with JCT forms, • Manage claims, extensions of time (EOTs), RFIs, and dispute resolution support, • Oversee subcontractor and supplier agreements, • Review and challenge tender submissions, • Lead subcontract procurement and commercial negotiations, • Ensure procurement activities align with project budgets and programmes, • Manage change control and variations, • Prepare and maintain CVRs (Cost Value Reconciliations) and cash flow forecasts, • Provide accurate and timely commercial reporting to senior management, • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners, • Represent the business in commercial and project meetings, • Safeguard company interests while fostering collaborative partnerships Candidate Requirements • Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within a main contracting environment, • Strong knowledge of JCT contracts, • Experience managing refurbishment and/or fire remediation projects (desirable), • Commercially astute with excellent negotiation skills, • Strong reporting and stakeholder management abilities, • Experience with PCSA agreements (advantageous) Salary & Benefits • Competitive salary (commensurate with experience), • Car allowance, • Comprehensive Benefits Package, • Flexible working, • Opportunity to work on high-profile, meaningful building safety projects
