Occupational Hygienist / Indoor Air Quality Consultant Oxfordshire | Permanent | Full-time | ASAP Start £27,000-£35,000 DOE + benefits + profit share An employee-owned environmental consultancy is seeking an early-career Occupational Hygienist / Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) Consultant to join its growing technical team based in Oxfordshire. About the Company The consultancy provides specialist occupational hygiene and environmental monitoring services across the UK, including: Workplace exposure monitoring * Indoor air quality (IAQ) assessments * Dust and air monitoring * Technical consultancy support * Bespoke equipment design * Laboratory testing and analysis As an employee-owned organisation, the company promotes collaboration, technical excellence, and shared success, supported by a profit-sharing scheme. The Role This is a hands-on, practical role with close support from senior consultants as you develop both technical and client-facing skills. Key responsibilities include: Delivering occupational exposure assessments (dusts, fibres, VOCs, gases, and other airborne contaminants) * Analysing monitoring results and producing clear, accurate technical reports * Supporting additional surveys such as noise monitoring and LEV assessments (training provided) * Responding to client enquiries, assisting with quotations, and supporting business development activities The role is primarily office-based, with regular UK site visits. Hybrid working is available once initial training has been completed. What We're Looking For Essential Minimum 1 year's experience in occupational or industrial hygiene, including airborne contaminant and noise monitoring * Strong written and verbal communication skills with proven technical report writing ability * Confident using MS Word and Excel * Comfortable handling, analysing, and interpreting large datasets * Working knowledge of COSHH, EH40, and MDHS guidance * Full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK Desirable BOHS membership * Degree in Occupational Hygiene, Environmental Science, or a related discipline * Knowledge of IAQ standards and frameworks (e.g. BREEAM) * Experience with LEV testing and/or supporting quotations and commercial enquiries * Confidence working independently in a client-facing role * Willingness to travel, including occasional overnight stays Benefits Employee ownership and profit-sharing scheme * Support for professional memberships (BOHS, IES, IAQM) * Competitive salary with 7% employer pension contribution * Private medical and dental insurance * Company vehicle scheme (subject to availability) * Friendly, supportive team with excellent training and development * UK travel with potential for occasional overseas work * 25 days annual leave + bank holidays Apply To apply or find out more, contact Abi King at Penguin Recruitment.
