This is an excellent opportunity to work on high value, technically complex and often international matters across the maritime, shipping and marine insurance sectors. The team advises a broad range of clients including shipowners, charterers, P&I Clubs, underwriters, traders, brokers, port operators and other key industry stakeholders.The RoleYou'll be responsible for managing a varied caseload of marine, shipping and trade related disputes, including:Wet shipping disputes and marine liability claimsLitigated and pre litigated matters across small claims, fast track and multi trackCollision, unsafe port and admiralty mattersEmployers' liability, public liability and catastrophic injury claims arising from marine incidentsOccupational disease, property recovery and goods in transit claimsMarine casualty investigations, inquests and regulatory mattersSupporting partners on complex, multi jurisdictional disputesEngaging with experts, witnesses and counsel to develop case strategyBuilding strong relationships with insurers, P&I Clubs, shipowners, operators and other maritime clientsCandidate RequirementsThis role is suited to a qualified solicitor with:1-4 years' PQE (or equivalent)Experience handling catastrophic injury, large loss PI, EL/PL or related insurance litigationExposure to marine, shipping, transport or insurance related disputes (advantageous but not essential)Experience managing litigated and pre litigated claims across varying complexityStrong technical, analytical and drafting skillsExcellent attention to detail and case management capabilityAbility to manage competing priorities in a fast paced environmentStrong communication and client relationship skillsA collaborative approach and enthusiasm for developing a career in the maritime sectorBenefitsThe firm offers:High-quality training and supervisionClear career progression pathwaysExposure to international, high value and complex marine workA supportive, collaborative team cultureHybrid working arrangementsRecognition for high-quality work and client serviceHow to ApplyIf this opportunity sounds of interest or you'd like a confidential conversation about your next career move, please contact:Email: oliviareed@chadwicknott.co.ukPhone: 0117 917 1515 / 07711 799761The firm is an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applications from all qualified candidates.
