Head of Project Management Bedford | £65k–£75k I’m working with a highly specialised engineering and R&D organisation at a pivotal stage of growth. They are now looking to hire a Head of Project Management, a role that will take ownership of delivery across the business and build a best-in-class PM function from the ground up. This is not a “maintain the status quo” role. 👉 This is about bringing structure, clarity and performance into a complex, technical environment 👉 Leading and developing a team of Project Managers 👉 And shaping how projects are delivered across the organisation 💡 What you’ll be doing • Leading and developing a team of Project Managers, • Owning delivery performance across a portfolio of complex engineering programmes, • Building and embedding project governance, processes and reporting frameworks, • Working closely with engineering, commercial and leadership teams, • Acting as the key escalation point for delivery challenges, • Driving consistency, accountability and continuous improvement 🔍 What they’re looking for • Proven experience leading complex engineering or R&D programmes, • Experience managing or mentoring Project Managers, • Strong background in building or improving PM processes and governance, • Comfortable operating in technically complex environments, • Strong stakeholder management, able to challenge and influence at all levels, • A “builder” mindset, someone who can create structure where it doesn’t yet exist 🎯 Why this role stands out • Opportunity to shape and own a PM function, • Work on high-value, technically complex projects, • Exposure to global, high-profile customers, • Join a business investing in growth and capability, • Real influence at leadership level 💰 Salary: £65k–£75k 📍 Bedford (predominantly on-site) 🔐 Security clearance eligibility required If you’re currently operating as a Senior Programme Manager, Head of PM, or PMO Lead and are looking for a role where you can genuinely make an impact I’d be keen to speak.
