THE OPPORTUNITY • We’re looking for an experienced, hands-on Technical Manager to join our team at Lymn Bank Farm, our specialist waxed cheese and cheese bite production site., • This is a senior, site-critical role within an FMCG SME environment — fast-paced, customer-focused and constantly evolving. You’ll have full ownership of food safety, quality and legality, while leading and developing a technical team of up to four colleagues., • This is more than a job — it’s a chance to make a real impact in a business that’s transforming with pace, purpose and pride., • In this role, you will:, • Lead all aspects of food safety, quality and legality, ensuring compliance with internal standards, customer codes of practice and regulatory requirements, • Own and manage all technical and quality audits, ensuring the site is audit-ready at all times, • Lead the Technical Team, including Quality Assurance, Control, Evening Hygiene Team and Pest Management service, • Develop and deliver an integrated technical strategy with clear ownership, accountability and measurable outcomes, • Build and embed a strong food safety and quality culture across the site, • Manage performance, objectives, training and development for all team members, supported by a clear training matrix, • Monitor technical performance through KPIs, complaints, non-conformances and trend analysis, • Ensure all technical visits are professionally managed, reinforcing a high-performing, best-in-class reputation, • Provide clear, accurate technical reporting to the Managing Director, • Drive continuous improvement across technical systems, processes and people, • You’ll be joining a workplace where collaboration and curiosity are encouraged. ABOUT YOU • We want to work with people who are bold, organised and thrive in fast-paced environments — people who share our values and are ready to take ownership., • You’ll bring:, • A degree (or equivalent) in Food Science or a related discipline, • Minimum 10 years’ experience in FMCG or a similar environment, including at least 5 years in a people management role, • Strong experience in retail-facing technical environments and customer standards, • BRC compliance knowledge and hands-on audit experience, • Proven ability to manage and develop teams of up to four people, • Exceptional organisation, planning and prioritisation skills, • Strong commercial awareness and sound decision-making ability, • A detail-focused, methodical approach with the confidence to work at pace, • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels, • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and database systems, • Desirable:, • Experience working directly with retailer quality systems, • Up-to-date knowledge of technical and consumer trends, • A continuous improvement mindset — always looking to raise standards and reduce risk, • You’ll also demonstrate behaviours aligned to our values:, • Be Better.
