Environmental Analyst Location: South Wales (Cardiff, Monmouth or Welshpool) Salary: £19.54 p/hour, 37 hours a week, Monday-Friday Employment Type: Temporary – 2 months, hybrid working About the Role We’re seeking a scientifically minded, analytical individual to join our public sector client based in Wales as an Environmental Analyst. You’ll play a crucial role in reviewing and validating work carried out across river catchments in South Wales. The organisation already holds comprehensive quantitative datasets, what they need now is someone who can qualify that data, interpret what it really means, and ensure the work completed delivers the right environmental outcomes. What You’ll Be Doing • Evaluating work undertaken across river catchments and determining whether the intended outcomes have been achieved, • Running structured, in‑house evaluation sessions with technical specialists, project teams, and other relevant stakeholders, • Assessing quantitative data and qualifying it through research, environmental understanding, and logical reasoning, • Producing clear recommendations and conclusions based on evidence and catchment science, • Identifying gaps, inconsistencies, or areas requiring further validation, • Supporting business decisions by presenting findings in a clear and confident manner, • Using Excel to analyse, organise and interpret datasets What We’re Looking For • Degree (BSc/MSc/PhD) in Environmental Science, Marine Science, Ecology, Biology, Geography, or related field, • Strong analytical thinking with the ability to draw conclusions from complex datasets, • Confident and logical decision-making skills, • Excellent Excel skills (indexing, pivot tables, lookups, data handling, etc.), • Power BI experience is a bonus, • Comfortable evaluating work objectively and professionally

Environmental Data Analyst Location: Cardiff Rate: £19.54 per hour Contract: Minimum 2 months Working Arrangements You will be required to attend the Cardiff office twice per week for the first two weeks for training. Following this, the role will be primarily remote with occasional office attendance as required. We are currently recruiting for an Environmental Data Analyst to join our client’s organisation on a short-term project based in Cardiff. Working within a specialist environmental team, you will play a key role in reviewing and analysing complex environmental data and internal reports, supporting evaluations across multiple river catchment areas and providing valuable insight to inform decision making. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong scientific background who is equally confident working with data, systems, and analytical tools. The Role You will play a key role in evaluating environmental data and supporting in house assessments across 10 river catchment areas. The position will involve reviewing detailed internal reports, analysing both quantitative and qualitative information, and contributing to the development of accurate and insightful documentation. You will also liaise with internal stakeholders to gather additional context and ensure all findings are clearly interpreted and presented. Key Responsibilities Review and evaluate internal environmental reports Analyse large datasets, identifying trends and key insights Translate quantitative data into meaningful qualitative analysis Work closely with internal teams to gather and validate information Support the production of clear, structured documentation and reports Carry out in house evaluations to support environmental planning workAbout You Degree or PhD in a relevant scientific field such as Marine Biology, Geography, Biology, or Geology Strong analytical skills with confidence interpreting complex data Advanced Excel skills and experience using Power BI Comfortable working with both data and written reports Strong communication skills with the ability to engage internal stakeholders Highly organised with strong attention to detail If interested...
