What you'll be doing Key ResponsibilitiesAs Managing Quantity Surveyor, you’ll provide commercial leadership across the project, ensuring strong contractual control, accurate reporting, effective cost management and robust commercial governance.You’ll be responsible for:Leading and supporting Quantity Surveying staff across the projectDeveloping and delivering the commercial strategy to protect margin and manage riskOverseeing cost reporting, forecasting, cash flow, valuations and final accountsManaging subcontract procurement, subcontract accounts and commercial performanceIdentifying, valuing and agreeing variations with the customerSupporting project reviews, reporting and commercial decision-makingEnsuring compliance with Balfour Beatty’s commercial processes, BMS and Group Minimum Commercial ExpectationsMaintaining a relentless focus on Zero Harm, sustainability and Balfour Beatty valuesThe role profile highlights that this position is responsible for commercial and contractual control, managing a small team of Quantity Surveyors, and guiding project teams on all commercial matters. Who we're looking for We’re looking for a commercially astute Managing Quantity Surveyor who can lead from the front, influence stakeholders and create a strong, collaborative commercial team.You’ll bring:Substantial Quantity Surveying experience within a relevant construction or infrastructure environmentProven experience managing commercial performance on complex projectsStrong understanding of margin, risk, cash flow, forecasting and contract administrationExperience leading, influencing and developing commercial teamsA valid CSCS cardProfessional membership or qualification such as RICS, CIOB, ICE or similar would be desirableWhy join Balfour Beatty?This is more than a commercial role.
