understand the fostering task, competencies to be achieved and the standards expected, including complaints and representations procedures as detailed in the ISP Fostering policies and procedures, • Work in partnership with all professionals to identify any needs within the foster family e.g. respite, activities, therapy, holidays, with all members of the child's network, including contributing to all relevant meetings and any other tasks defined, • Identify the learning and development needs of Foster Parents and recommend action as required, • Attend and/or arrange meetings to support Foster Parents, children and young people, • Take a lead role in the resolution of any disputes arising between Foster Parents and other professionals, • Support Foster Parents in preparing children and young people for independent or semi-independent living Safeguarding Children and Young People • Work in partnership with the placing local authority to ensure that the child and young person's needs as identified in the Care Plan and placement agreement are met, • Ensure that comprehensive case recordings are completed and maintained, • Demonstrate and ensure that the team has a sound knowledge of child safeguarding procedures, • Participate in negotiation between ISP Fostering and local authorities to ensure that each child or young person placed is carefully matched with a Foster the necessary risk assessments are completed in line with ISP Fostering policies and procedures, • Ensure compliance with the Social Work England, or equivalent body, requirements necessary to retain job title and registration, • Attend social, educational and leisure activities relating to the support of children, young people and Foster Parents, • In consultation with the Registered Manager, ensure that learning and development needs meet the requirements of professional development, • Provide Out of Hours cover when required and inform Foster Parents how 24-hour emergency support can be Respiratory outpatient clinics are held at King’s Mill and Newark Hospitals as well in the Ashfield and Mansfield Community Hospitals. As well as general Respiratory out-patient clinics, we have also sub-specialist clinics for Lung Cancer, Interstitial Lung Disease, Sleep/Ventilators, COPD, TB and Bronchiectasis. We sees approximately 2600 new outpatients per year and over 6400 follow up patients. There are bronchoscopy sessions at both King’s Mill Hospital and in Newark. We also perform Endobronchial ultrasound, Thoracoscopy and indwelling pleural catheters at King’s Mill. We support pulmonary rehabilitation and oxygen services at three sites across mid-Nottinghamshire. We have excellent clinical support from 10 respiratory physiologists with access to full pulmonary function tests, exhaled nitric oxide, exercise tests and muscle strength tests. There are also facilities for in-patient and out-patient sleep studies, with 4000 patients under follow-up for sleep disorders. We also organises the community oxygen assessment programme. We are well served by the Radiology department with 2 consultants who specialise in Chest Radiology. We have weekly support from the tertiary oncology centre in Nottingham with 2 oncologists and a thoracic surgeon attending our local MDT. All elective work is cancelled for this session and staff are expected to attend and participate as part of clinical governance and audit arrangements. There is also a learning and discrepancy meeting. All CPD requirements must be met. Directorate Consultant meetings are held monthly and are chaired by the Clinical Lead.
