Location: Ossett, West Yorkshire Salary: £29,113 – £30,565 per annum + Sleep-In Payments Job Type: Full Time | Permanent Driving Licence: Essential About the Role We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established Children’s Residential Home in Ossett, seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Support Worker to join their supportive care team. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of children and young people. We welcome candidates with experience in Children’s Residential Care, SEN support, education support, youth work, or other child-focused environments supporting children with additional and complex needs. You will be supporting children and young people who may present with a range of needs including: • Special Educational Needs (SEN), • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), • ADHD, • SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health Needs), • Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), • Trauma-related behaviours, • Learning disabilities and additional support needs, • Challenging behaviour and emotional dysregulation This is a rewarding opportunity to provide stability, encouragement, and positive support within a nurturing residential setting. Key Responsibilities As a Residential Support Worker, you will: • Provide high-quality, child-centred care and support within a residential environment., • Build positive, professional relationships with children and young people., • Support emotional wellbeing, personal development, confidence, and independence., • Assist children with daily routines, education attendance, appointments, activities, and life skills development., • Support young people presenting with challenging behaviour, using positive behaviour support approaches and de-escalation techniques., • Promote a safe, structured, and nurturing home environment., • Accurately complete daily records, reports, and safeguarding documentation., • Work collaboratively with colleagues, education professionals, social workers, healthcare teams, and families where appropriate., • Follow safeguarding procedures, care plans, and risk management processes., • Participate in shift work, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins.
