Ductwork Fitter Job • Pay: £20 per hour • Location: Central London • Type: Full-time • Requirements: Must have a valid CSCS card We are hiring experienced ductwork fitters to install and maintain HVAC duct systems in commercial and residential projects. The role includes measuring, cutting, assembling ductwork, and reading blueprints. Candidates must have a valid CSCS card. Competitive pay and long-term opportunities available. We are a well-established small family run refurbishment and construction company looking to take on a Labourer/Driver. With experience working on residential and commercial sites in and around the London/Essex area. Day to day work will vary, from general labouring works on a range of properties we look after, to larger renovation and refurbishment projects with no two weeks being the same. The operative will be expected to be flexible, working on one site for months at a time or switching from one to another as the workload requires. Must be trustworthy and reliable. Confident with working on your own and within a team. - Labouring works i.e. assisting tradesmen, keeping site clean, loading/unloading materials, filling skips - Driving works i.e. using company vehicle to collect materials from suppliers and deliver to various sites Hours of work: Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm, occasional weekend work as required. £125 per day. Key Responsibilities: a) Site Setting Out: Perform detailed setting out of construction elements such as foundations, drainage, utilities, highways, and building components using surveying instruments (Total Station, GPS, Levels). b) Drawing Interpretation: Analyse architectural, structural, and civil drawings, specifications, and engineering documents to prepare setting out strategies and mark constructable elements. c) Coordination: Liaise with project managers, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to coordinate activities, resolve discrepancies, and ensure accurate site positioning. d) Monitoring & Reporting: Conduct regular site checks to verify and monitor the accuracy of set-out points and provide progress updates through clear, comprehensive reports. e) Health & Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations, promoting a safe working environment and identifying potential risks. f) Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of measurements, as-built drawings, and site logs for audit and quality assurance purposes. g) Problem Solving: Identify and rectify any setting out issues or inconsistencies promptly to avoid delays. Required Skills & Qualifications: a) Bachelor’s Degree, HND, or equivalent in Civil Engineering, Surveying, or related field. b) Minimum of 2 years’ experience working as a Setting Out Engineer in civil engineering or construction projects. c) Proficient use of surveying equipment such as Total Station, GPS, laser levels, and digital measuring tools. d) Familiarity with CAD software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and other digital design tools. e) Strong knowledge of construction methods, site processes, and engineering principles. f) Excellent attention to detail with strong numerical and analytical skills. g) Ability to interpret complex drawings and technical documents accurately. h) Good communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams. i) Valid CSCS card and any health and safety certification. j) Full UK Driving Licence preferred.
