1:1 SEN Learning Support Assistant – Reception – Carlisle Humly is recruiting a 1:1 SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a primary school on a long-term basis. This is a part-time role starting 09/03/2026 and continuing until 17/07/2026, with potential to be extended into the new academic year. Working mornings only, this role would suit an experienced and nurturing SEN practitioner who is confident supporting a Reception-aged child on a 1:1 basis and committed to inclusive practice within the Early Years environment. What You’ll Be Doing Providing dedicated 1:1 support for a child in Reception with additional needs Supporting learning through play-based and structured Early Years activities Implementing personalised strategies to support communication, engagement and development Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation using consistent approaches Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to monitor progress and adapt support Promoting independence while ensuring the child feels safe, supported and included What You’ll Bring Experience supporting primary-aged children with SEN, ideally within EYFS A patient, flexible and nurturing approach to learning support Confidence working 1:1 and as part of a wider classroom team Strong understanding of inclusive practice and positive behaviour support Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families A genuine commitment to helping every child reach their full potential Pay £14.85 per hour Additional Benefits Weekly pay and access to roles via the Humly app FREE Safeguarding, Prevent & Child Protection training Ongoing support from our experienced North West team The most downloaded supply app in the UK £100 Refer-a-Friend bonus once your referral completes their first assignment Important Information Part-time – Monday to Friday, 08:30–12:15 Start date: 09/03/2026 Primary school-based position Enhanced DBS required (If required, Humly can support with an Enhanced DBS at a cost to the educator) Safeguarding & Rehabilitation of Offenders Act Humly is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
