Job Title: Production Chef Contract: Full time, permanent Hours: 40 hours / week Mon - Thu: 12pm - 8pm Fri: 10am - 6pm On acceptance of the position, the successful candidate will be required to work 10am - 6pm each day for the first month in order to complete training alongside our senior chef. Location: Sydenham, London Description We are seeking a full time, experienced production chef to join our friendly team at our busy kitchen in Sydenham, London. The Family Food Co is on a mission to support parents by providing delicious, convenient and nutritionally balanced frozen meals and our amazing chefs are the heart of our business. You will be cooking all our meals from scratch for our brand, Pots for Tots, using the best ingredients in a friendly and supportive environment - this isn’t your regular chef role! Supported by our Senior Production Chef and reporting to our Head of Product, you will be responsible for ensuring every one of our frozen ready meals is cooked to perfection - attention to detail and a love of food is of course a must! Requirements - Minimum 3 years in a professional food environment to include a minimum of 1 year in a food production environment (restaurant/catering experience is useful, but it is essential you also have demonstrable experience in a production environment producing packaged food for retail, not just hospitality cooking) - Level 2 food hygiene certificate, a demonstrable knowledge of proper food hygiene practices and a full understanding of EHO requirements (a bonus if you also have knowledge of SALSA accreditation!) - Fast and flexible worker - it gets busy in our kitchen; we need you to be able to work quickly and efficiently while maintaining our super high quality standards and facing challenges with enthusiasm - Ability to follow recipes exactly - our meals are carefully designed to meet our nutritional and cost requirements, therefore you will need to produce to an exact specification ensuring all weights/measures and cook times are adhered to (there’s no room for creative flare during the cooking of our meals, as consistency is crucial - however, we regularly develop new meals and this is where you can bring your ideas and get creative!) - Confident working independently and leading a team of Kitchen Assistants - our KAs are invaluable, helping with everything from portioning meals, basic food prep and keeping the kitchen clean to loading/unloading deliveries and organising our storage space. The Client The client is an outgoing 19 year old Male, who is a wheelchair user, and communicates using an eye gaze. The Client lives with his family in Saxmundham. He is dependent on his support workers to promote his safety and assist with the activities of daily living. Social and recreational pursuits are an important element of the client's care, as he enjoys socialising with friends, going to concerts and attending social clubs. The Role The role of the candidate will be, both to provide direct two-to-one care for the client in the home and community, and 1:1 care at night as an oncall sleep in shift. The successful candidate will be friendly, professional and a team player, with a passion to provide high quality care. Direct Care The candidate will work alongside another support worker to deliver the following care to the client: personal care, medication administration, and meeting manual handling needs. There must be a commitment to build an appropriate friendship and rapport with the client, promote privacy and dignity and provide a high standard of therapeutic support in line with the relevant care plan’s and guidance. The candidate must have a clean driving licence, and be willing to drive the client’s vehicle to attend concerts, and other recreational activities with the client. Full training, support and guidance will be provided from the Case manager who will oversee the Care Team. Essential Must have experience working with young people/ adults with additional health and physical needs. Must be reliable, punctual, professional and friendly. Must have excellent communication skills, a caring approach, with good initiative and problem solving skills. Ability to work effectively individually and as part of a team Must be fluent in English - both written and verbal. Field Care Supervisor spends 80% of their working week in the field, the balance being spent in the office to complete their necessary administration. • Working hours will be flexible. • To undertake assessments for new packages within 48 hour, first QA after two weeks. • Conduct Risk Assessments as part of the Individual Needs Assessment and to update these as required as part of the Service User's risk management (Re-assessments at 6-monthly intervals for double-handed service users, and annually, or as required, for all other service users) - Some urgent visits maybe required during the week. • Report any changes in a Service User to the Care Coordinating Team. • Monitor all Service Users for customer satisfaction. • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of all documentation held in Service Users' homes. • Ensure that all written reports and administration is up to date and signed off by Operations Management Team. • Liaise closely with the Senior Care – Coordinator/Operations Management Team and report back regularly on activity in the field. • To attend service user reviews as required by the Local Authority. • To record on the system the outcomes of all such reviews. • To carry out spot visits to Service users’ homes whilst Care Workers are in attendance when required. • Responding to complaints and queries from service users.
