And we do it all right here at Sky. The Global Streaming Data Platforms (GS-Data) department is leading the way in many areas of data. The department has designed and built a world-leading real time data analytics platform, using the latest cloud and open-source technologies. We stream billions of events each day to enable our partner teams across Sky and Comcast deliver customer-led sophisticated insights and analytics. What you'll do • Design, build, test and maintain software to help integrate and orchestrate the movement of data between critical Data components., • Deliver observable, reliable and secure software, adopting you build it you run it mentality, and focus on automation., • Take an active role in story definition, assisting business collaborators with acceptance criteria., • Work with Principal Engineers and Architects to share and supply to the broader technical vision., • Support and mentor less experienced members of the team. What you'll bring, • Track record of delivering complex, production quality applications., • Strong Scala development experience, preferably in the akka /pekko ecosystem., • Experience working with Docker, Kubernetes and Cloud technologies., • Strong Test Driven Development background, with understanding of levels of testing required to continuously deliver value to production, • Experience with build management and CI systems such as Jenkins, TeamCity or similar, • Delivery experience within an agile environment using Scrum / Kanban methodologies and Pair Programming., • The attitude of leading by example and the willingness to work as part of a team.
