We are currently seeking an experienced and compassionate SEN Tutor to join and support SEN children in a variety of settings across Sutton. Each child needs 10-15 hours per week Role Overview: As an SEN Tutor, you will work closely with students with SEN, offering tailored, one-to-one or small group support. You will create and implement tailored learning plans, using a range of teaching strategies and resources to meet the needs of students. The students may have a wide range of SEN, such as Autism (ASD), ADHD, Dyscalculia, Dyslexia,SEMH needs, such as Emotional based school avoider and mental health needs. Key Responsibilities: • Provide high-quality, personalized tutoring to children with SEN, • To assess learners needs and plan and implement tailored and structured programs of learning in line with young persons EHCP outcomes, • Make sure the children feel safe and secure, • Work closely with teachers and parents to track student progress and adjust learning plans accordingly., • Foster an inclusive, positive, and encouraging learning environment., • Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to parents and educational professionals., • Help students develop their social, emotional, and academic skills., • Promote independent learning and help students build confidence in their abilities. Key Skills and Experience: • Proven experience working with students with Special Educational Needs (ideally 2 years experience), • Knowledge of different SEN categories (e.g., autism, dyslexia, ADHD, speech and language needs) and how to deal with them best., • Strong communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and school staff., • Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt to a wide range of learning needs., • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one, • A passion for education and helping children achieve their full potential., • A teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS) or relevant SEN training (e.g., SENDCO, SEN TA experience) is desirable but not essential
