
Sales Associate — Full Time Richmond, South London Start date: Opening November 2025 London Atelier Byproduct is an independent womenswear and homeware brand opening its first boutique and studio in Richmond this November. We’re looking for a full-time Sales Associate to join our small team and help bring your experience to life in-store. This is a hands-on role in a creative retail setting that combines clothing, homeware, and in-house sewing. The building takes its name and inspiration from its history as the former home and studio of Sir John Lavery (1856–1941), the renowned Anglo-Irish painter. Housed within a collection of Grade II-listed townhouses. The kitchen is led by Yohei Furuhashi. Yohei’s menu highlights Mediterranean seasonality while incorporating influences and ingredients from the British Isles. What we’re looking for: As the Receptionist for our restaurant, private dining and event spaces, you will play a key role in welcoming guests, managing bookings, and ensuring smooth operations at the front desk. You will act as the first point of contact for customers and play a vital role in delivering excellent customer service both in-person, over the phone and email. The ideal candidate will be proactive, organised, friendly, and confident working in a fast-paced environment. What you will be doing: Telephone & Restaurant Bookings Management: Handle booking requests, modifications, and cancellations. Provide information on restaurant opening hours, menu, and special events. Take and relay messages for management or your colleagues. Confirm bookings and reservations system. Ensure restaurant shared email inboxes are managed. Be the first point of contact for customer feedback and escalate complaints to management when necessary. Event & Private Dining Coordination: Provide initial information about private dining and event bookings. Forward event enquiries to the appropriate team. Assist in organising guest lists or special event details. Guest Services & Reception: Act as a first point of contact and greet guests warmly upon arrival. Handle walk-in enquiries about availability and waiting times. Assist guests with cloakroom service and retrieve coats upon departure. Manage lost property. Provide information about restaurant policies and services. Administrative & Communication Duties: Respond to email enquiries about bookings, private events, and special requests. Maintain an organised log of VIP guests or special occasions. Communicate guest preferences and special requests to the team. Coordinate with the front-of-house team to ensure smooth service. Update booking systems or guest records as needed. General Support Tasks and Operational Support: Assist with printing and preparing menus, place cards, or signage. Ensure the teapoint areas are kept stocked up and ensure stock areas are kept tidy. Monitor guest feedback and pass relevant comments to management. Sort and deliver incoming post and parcels with attention to detail. Adhere to all fire safety procedures and assist in the evacuation process in the event of a fire. Carry out administrative tasks and provide support for all departments when required. Ensure front desk areas and back office areas are kept organised and tidy. Liaise and update security teams with any changes or updates, keep communication with security teams during shift. Work alongside the building and cleaning teams to log and follow up on any maintenance or cleaning issues.
