Quality Engineer\n\nSalary: £43k-£50k per annum\nTerm: Permanent\nLocation: Middlesex\n\nOverview\n\nAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quality Engineer to join a leading manufacturing company. This role offers the chance to play a key part in the production of innovative solutions for a range of markets.\n\nWe are seeking a dedicated professional to lead and manage Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) activities. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with customer and industry standards while collaborating effectively with internal teams and suppliers.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nAs a Quality Engineer, your key responsibilities will include:\n\nLeading and managing PPAP submissions for new product introductions (NPI), engineering changes, and supplier parts.\nPreparing, reviewing, and approving PPAP documents, including Process Flow Diagrams, PFMEA, Control Plans, dimensional layouts, material certificates, MSA, and capability studies.\nMaintaining PPAP records and customer communications, managing revisions, tracking approval status, and responding to customer feedback.\nActing as the primary quality contact and customer interface for assigned projects.\nPromoting and ensuring successful PPAP submissions.\nSupporting customer and internal meetings to share development status and report customer requirements.\nCollaborating with internal departments (Sales, QA, Engineering, and Production) to meet project deadlines.\nDeveloping, writing, and enhancing processes, plans, and procedures in collaboration with Quality Management.\nInterpreting and communicating customer requirements within the organization.\n\nQualifications\n\nTo be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:\n\nStrong understanding and ability to work with technical drawings and dimensionally measure parts using Non-Contact or Contact measurement equipment.\nProficiency in APQP/PPAP processes and associated tools.\nExpertise in GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).\nExperience in preparing Control Plans, FMEAs, and all relevant PPAP documentation.\nAutomotive experience in preparing PPAP/APQP documentation (preferred).\nPrevious experience working with metal parts in the automotive sector (advantageous).\nWorking knowledge of IATF 16949 requirements.\nExcellent reporting and communication skills.\nAbility to work independently with minimal supervision.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office applications.\n\nDay-to-Day\n\nOn a daily basis, you will:\n\nLead PPAP activities and ensure compliance with industry standards.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project deadlines.\nCommunicate with customers and suppliers to address quality requirements.\nMaintain accurate documentation and records for PPAP submissions.\nSupport internal and external meetings to provide updates on project progress.\nIf you are a motivated and experienced Quality Engineer with PPAP expertise, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a company that values innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
