AV Technician (Live Events & Installations) £24,000 – £36,000 DOE London-based | UK & International Travel | Full-Time, Permanent About The Flash Pack The Flash Pack is a technical production agency specialising in immersive content experiences and permanent installations. We work with world-class brands including Google, Dyson, Burberry and Red Bull, delivering creative technology solutions across live events, branded environments and long-term venue installations. Our work is built around high-end photo, video and interactive AV systems — designed, built and delivered by our in-house team of creatives, producers, technicians, developers and fabricators. The Role We’re looking for an AV Technician to join our Technical Production team, supporting the delivery of live events, installations and permanent photobooth systems in the UK and internationally. This role would suit: • A graduate or junior technician looking to build hands-on experience in AV and live events You’ll be reliable, hands-on with kit, working in fast-paced environments and supporting projects from prep through to delivery and ongoing support. What You’ll Be Doing • Installing, configuring and operating AV, photo and video systems at live events and installations, • Preparing and testing equipment pre-event (computers, cameras, printers, lighting, networking), • Supporting packing, shipping, delivery and on-site setup of technical kit, • Troubleshooting IT, AV and networking issues during live activations, • Supporting and maintaining permanent installations (on-site and remotely), • Working closely with the wider technical team to maintain equipment, workshop organisation and inventory, • Documenting faults and feeding back improvements, • Supporting R&D and testing of new tools and technologiesWhat We’re Looking For (Essential), • Full UK driving licence, • Comfortable working hands-on with AV, IT or event technology, • Basic understanding of:, • AV systems, • Networking fundamentals (LAN, Wi-Fi, IP addressing), • Safe power distribution for events, • Calm under pressure and able to problem-solve on site, • Good communication skills and a team-first attitude, • Willingness to work evenings/weekends as required (with TOIL)Nice to Have (But Not Required), • Experience with live events, exhibitions or installations, • Photography, lighting or video camera experience, • Familiarity with Linux, scripting, microcontrollers, or embedded systems, • Full-time permanent role (37.5 hours per week), • Hours vary depending on projects and events, • Evening and weekend work required at times, • TOIL system to ensure fair balancePackage & Benefits, • 25 days holiday + 1 extra day per year of service (up to 28), • Pension: 5% employee / 3% employer contribution, • Healthcare Cash Plan (up to £640 per year), • Employee Assistance Programme & 24-hour GP access We value practical experience, curiosity and problem-solving as much as formal qualifications.
