Additional Information: We are seeking a dedicated, inspiring and skilled KS3 Nurture Teacher to join our team at Baston House School in Bromley, Kent on a fixed-term basis to cover a period of paternity leave. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified teacher who is passionate about inclusive education, holistic child development, and individualised learning pathways. About the role In this role, you will lead a small Key Stage 3 nurture class, supporting pupils with autism and additional needs. You will deliver a broad and balanced curriculum that meets their academic targets while also promoting communication skills, emotional regulation, independence, and life skills. This is not a traditional mainstream teaching role. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team that includes speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, behaviour analysts, and pastoral staff. Together, you will work to remove barriers to learning and help every young person feel valued, understood, and successful. Key Responsibilities • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons in line with individual EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans), • Create a safe, positive, and structured learning environment, • Promote pupil wellbeing, confidence, and emotional development alongside academic progress, • Use a variety of teaching strategies and assistive technologies to meet individual needs, • Monitor, assess and report on pupil progress using school systems and frameworks, • Work closely with parents/carers and external professionals to provide a holistic support system, • Participate in the wider life of the school including staff meetings, CPD, and school events, • Maintain accurate records of behaviour, incidents, and progress using the school’s systems We’re looking for a caring, flexible, and resilient teacher with a strong understanding of SEN and a creative approach to learning. You must be confident working with children and young people who may present with challenging behaviour, communication difficulties, and complex emotional needs. Essential: • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (UK-recognised teaching qualification), • Experience teaching pupils with autism, learning difficulties, • Strong classroom management and behaviour regulation strategies, • Ability to plan and adapt lessons to meet a range of learning styles and abilities, • Excellent communication, teamwork and organisational skills, • Knowledge of TEACCH, PECS, SCERTS, or similar frameworks, • Experience working within a specialist setting or alternative provision, • An understanding of trauma-informed practice and positive behaviour support, • Ability to deliver a nurture-based curriculum and contribute to social/emotional learning Baston House is an independent day specialist provider of education and care for young people and adults aged 5 to 19 years who have been diagnosed with Autism (ASC). Job Description The M25 is one of our Flagship projects in the UK! It is the most used part of the UK Strategic Road Network with it seeing over 200,000 vehicles per day and it’s a critical infrastructure asset for personal and goods vehicles into and around our capital. The network includes around 800 structures and 5 tunnels, so it requires high levels of performance, constant improvement and repairs to keep it operating smoothly. The Asset Investment Planning Lead, is the Asset Management Strategy Sponsor, and is accountable for the strategic asset management, planning, and performance of the M25 DBFO portfolio including Paved Areas, Structures, Dartford Crossings and the wider Tunnels and Ancillaries portfolio. This role supports the delivery of a TOTEX investment approach that is applied across Planned Maintenance, Lifecycle Renewals, and Improvements, with projected investments exceeding £70 million per annum over the remaining 15 years of the contract. Providing strategic direction and leadership, the AIP Lead, will interface with the specialist asset management teams across a diverse range of assets, including: Technology, Tunnel mechanical and electrical systems, Lighting, Pavement, Structures, Drainage, Vehicle restraint systems, Road markings & signage. The AIP Lead, will also oversee and engage with the Asset Delivery team and Commercial Team supporting that agreed project, programme and portfolios plans remain on track in terms of time, quality and performance. They will highlight and escalate delivery issues where necessary, ensuring the business is aware of any asset or operational impacts caused by delays or failures. As a co-custodian of the Asset Strategy, the candidate will collaborate with the Asset Managers to ensure our forward-looking positions exhibit strong alignment with business and asset management objectives and retain a strong focus on deliverability. Drive environmental and sustainability goals, ensuring alignment with CPS commitments to net-zero and biodiversity net gain.
