Location: Tipton, Sandwell Salary: Excellent salary plus generous bonus and benefits Contract: Full-time, permanent Our client is opening a new 2 bed residential children’s home in Tipton for young people aged 12–17 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Their goal is to create a safe, therapeutic environment where young people can stabilise, grow, and thrive. The Role We’re looking for an experienced, passionate Registered Manager to lead the home from registration and beyond. You’ll be responsible for ensuring the home meets Ofsted’s Good or Outstanding standards, managing the staff team, and promoting a high-quality, child-centred culture. Key Responsibilities • Lead and manage all aspects of the home’s operations in line with Ofsted regulations and the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015., • Ensure that children receive high-quality, trauma-informed care and support tailored to their needs., • Recruit, train, and supervise a skilled care team, promoting a positive and resilient culture., • Maintain compliance with all safeguarding, health and safety, and quality assurance standards., • Work closely with local authorities, commissioners, and Ofsted inspectors., • Prepare for and manage Ofsted inspections and action plans. Requirements • NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards)., • At least 2 years’ experience managing or deputising in an Ofsted-registered children’s home., • Sound understanding of SEMH needs and trauma-informed practice., • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team., • Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations and inspection frameworks., • Excellent communication and safeguarding awareness.
