We Are Hiring REGISTERED MANAGER Faversham Nursing Home • Urmston, Manchester The Opportunity Faversham Nursing Home is seeking an exceptional Registered Manager to lead our home through an ambitious and exciting transformation. This is not a maintenance role — it is a genuine leadership opportunity to build a nursing home that stands apart from the rest, one that delivers high-complexity nursing care for residents whose needs other homes are unable or unwilling to meet. We are looking for someone who has already achieved this kind of transformation: a leader who has taken a care home and elevated it into a specialist, high-acuity service, winning the trust of commissioners and attracting complex care packages in the process. You will have the full backing of the organisation’s leadership. What we need from you is the vision, the drive, and the proven ability to make it happen. What You Will Do • Lead a strategic transformation — reposition the home to deliver high-complexity nursing care, including clients with complex physical health needs, ventilated and tracheostomy care, challenging behaviours, and conditions that standard nursing homes would typically decline., • Build commissioner confidence — develop and maintain strong, productive relationships with local authority and NHS commissioners, ICBs, and CHC teams to attract and secure complex, high-value care packages., • Inspire and upskill your team — lead from the front to raise clinical standards, boost morale, and build a culture where staff feel engaged, supported, and proud of the work they do. You will identify skills gaps and create structured training and development pathways., • Drive clinical governance — ensure the highest standards of person-centred care, robust care planning, risk management, medication management, and regulatory compliance across the home., • Achieve and maintain regulatory excellence — prepare and lead the home to a “Good” or “Outstanding” CQC rating, with a relentless focus on continuous quality improvement., • Manage operations effectively — oversee budgets, staffing, occupancy, and resource allocation to ensure the home operates efficiently while never compromising on quality of care., • Champion a positive culture — create an environment where staff retention improves, sickness reduces, and the home becomes a place people want to work and where residents thrive. Essential Requirements • Registered Nurse (RGN/RMN) with a valid NMC PIN, or a qualified social worker/registered manager with a relevant healthcare management qualification., • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (or equivalent), or willingness to complete., • Proven track record of leading a care or nursing home through a transformation to deliver high-complexity nursing care — this is a must., • Demonstrable experience of building relationships with commissioners, securing complex care packages, and growing occupancy with specialist placements., • A leadership style rooted in staff engagement, morale-building, and leading from the front — you motivate through presence, example, and genuine investment in your people., • Evidence of upskilling teams to deliver higher-acuity care safely and confidently., • Strong understanding of CQC regulatory requirements and a track record of achieving good or outstanding ratings., • Excellent clinical governance and risk management skills., • Sound commercial awareness with experience managing budgets and driving occupancy. Desirable • Experience working with CHC-funded, complex ventilated, or tracheostomy-care residents., • Established relationships with commissioners in the Greater Manchester area., • Experience of service turnaround or start-up within a nursing home setting. What We Offer • A competitive salary package, reflective of the importance and challenge of this role., • Full leadership support from the Director and Board — you will not be left to do this alone., • The autonomy and backing to shape the home’s future and build something exceptional., • A genuine opportunity to make a lasting difference to residents who are often failed by the system., • Ongoing professional development and investment in your growth as a leader.
