The Role – HGV Technician / Mechanic / Engineer You will be responsible for maintaining a mixed fleet of approximately 60 HGVs (DAF, IVECO, Mercedes, Scania & Volvo) and 150 trailers, working as part of an established workshop team. • Carrying out routine servicing, inspections, and preventative maintenance - Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults - Completing MOT preparation and presentation (HGV & trailer) - Working to DVSA standards and company compliance procedures - Carrying out defect rectification and safety inspections - Completing job cards and maintenance records accurately - Supporting breakdown repairs where required - Ensuring workshop housekeeping and H&S standards are maintained - Working collaboratively with other technicians to meet fleet availability targets - Time split between HGV units and trailers - Participation in a voluntary on-call rota What We’re Looking For – HGV Technician / Mechanic / Engineer • Proven experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic, or Commercial Vehicle Engineer - NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in HGV, Heavy Vehicle Maintenance, or equivalent (or time-served) - Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability - Experience working on trailers (desirable but not essential) - Good understanding of DVSA and MOT standards - Ability to work independently and as part of a team - Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety - Full UK driving licence (HGV Class 1 or 2 advantageous but not essential) INDPB
