JOB TITLE: Solutions Architect REPORTS TO: Head of Solutions Delivery JOB PURPOSE As a critical member of our technology transformation programme, you will drive the successful delivery of enterprise-scale solutions within our strategic change portfolio. This role positions you as embedded technical lead within our Deloitte delivery partnership, requiring you to operate effectively across both organisations while maintaining accountability to strategic objectives. You will be responsible for architecting and delivering complex technical solutions using modern cloud-native technologies, often operating outside current technology stack. The successful candidate must demonstrate proven experience in transformation environments where autonomous decision-making, stakeholder management, and technical excellence are paramount. A key strategic expectation is developing comprehensive technical knowledge and documentation to ensure seamless technology transfer and long-term maintainability of all solutions delivered through this partnership. RESPONSIBILITIES Technical Leadership & Architecture • Design and architect enterprise-scale solutions aligned with technology strategy and transformation roadmap, • Define technical standards, patterns, and frameworks for the transformation programme, • Lead technical design reviews and ensure architectural consistency across workstreams, • Champion cloud-native design principles and modern development practices Stakeholder Engagement & Partnership Management • Serve as primary technical representative within the Deloitte delivery team, • Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions, • Manage technical dependencies and risks across multiple workstreams, • Facilitate knowledge transfer sessions and maintain technical documentation standards Delivery Excellence • Allocate effort effectively across assigned deliverables, maintaining transparency on progress and risks, • Ensure all technical outputs comply with governance frameworks, security policies, and compliance standards, • Maintain accurate project tracking through Jira and technical documentation in Confluence, • Drive continuous improvement in delivery practices and technical quality Strategic Technology Alignment • Ensure solution designs align with Microsoft platform strategy and Azure migration roadmap, • Contribute to technology governance, including proof-of-concept evaluations and architectural decisions, • Minimum 7+ years designing and delivering enterprise software solutions in DevSecOps environments, • Proven track record of successful technology transformation programmes or large-scale modernisation initiatives, • Deep expertise in Azure cloud architecture, including data platforms, integration patterns, security implementation, and performance optimisation, • Demonstrated experience delivering customer-facing software applications with high availability and scalability requirements Industry & Delivery Experience • Preferred experience in financial services, insurance, or regulated industries, ideally with London Market exposure, • Strong background in software house, consulting, or Insurtech environments, • Proven ability to operate effectively in distributed, multi-vendor delivery teams, • Expert-level proficiency in modern JavaScript ecosystem (TypeScript, Node.js, React) with deep understanding of single-page application architecture, • Advanced expertise in TypeScript for both frontend and backend development, • Comprehensive experience with cloud-native design patterns, microservices architecture, and serverless computing, • Hands-on expertise with AWS services, particularly DynamoDB, Lambda, API Gateway, and event-driven architectures, • Strong knowledge of Azure data platforms, data lakes, and integration technologies, • Proficient in technical documentation, architectural diagramming, and standards development Leadership & Communication • Exceptional communication skills with ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences, • Proven ability to work autonomously while maintaining accountability to team objectives, • Strong stakeholder management skills with experience managing competing priorities and expectations, • Demonstrated capability in identifying, escalating, and resolving technical and delivery risks, • Experience maintaining quality standards across mixed teams of employees, contractors, and external suppliers Professional Attributes • Self-motivated with strong ownership mentality and results-driven approach, • Collaborative mindset with ability to build effective working relationships across organisational boundaries, • Adaptable to changing requirements and comfortable operating in ambiguous environments, • Competitive base salary with annual performance related discretionary bonus, • Death in service benefit of four times salary, • Contributory pension scheme, with optional matching, • Medical Insurance, • Wellbeing support, • Shopping discounts through complimentary Reward Gateway membership, • Learning and development support, • 27 days annual leave rising to 30 days Venquis is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy.
