Design Engineer - Wastewater Manchester (Hybrid) £450 – 500 per day (Contract) A leading UK-based engineering and infrastructure consultancy is currently seeking an experienced Water Design Engineer with a strong background in wastewater and utility projects to support a growing pipeline of work across the North West. This is a hybrid role based out of Manchester, working on critical wastewater treatment and network improvement schemes within a high-performing technical delivery team. You will play a key role in the design and coordination of wastewater assets, supporting projects from early design through to construction and handover. Key Responsibilities • Deliver detailed design solutions across wastewater and clean water infrastructure projects, • Produce and review technical drawings, design calculations, and specifications, • Support project delivery through the full lifecycle including concept, tender, and construction stages, • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including civil, mechanical, and electrical engineers, • Assist with design risk management in line with CDM regulations and industry standards, • Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and client stakeholders to ensure design compliance, • Contribute to programme, cost, and technical delivery on utility frameworks Requirements • Proven experience working as a Water or Wastewater Design Engineer, • Strong background in the UK utilities sector (Severn Trent, United Utilities, Anglian Water etc. beneficial), • Experience delivering designs for wastewater treatment works, pumping stations, pipelines or drainage schemes, • Strong understanding of relevant standards, safety, and environmental compliance, • Proficiency in design tools such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar, • Excellent communication and collaboration skills within project teams Package • £450 – £500 per day, • Hybrid working model (Manchester base), • Long-term contract opportunity with strong project continuity, • Opportunity to work on major AMP and wastewater infrastructure programmes

MEICA Project Engineer (Mechanical or Electrical) - Water Industry A leading tier-1 contractor working on delivering installation and maintenance projects within the water industry is looking for MEICA or M&E Project Engineers. This is working around the Manchester area on their United Utilities framework. If you have experience delivering projects from design through to commissioning within water, or a similar chemical/process engineering industry, then this could be the perfect role for you!
