Design Engineer (Water Treatment Solutions) – Peterborough Salary: Competitive Full-Time | Permanent I am recruiting on behalf of a leading international engineering organisation that delivers advanced water-treatment technologies to a wide range of industrial clients. Due to continued growth, the organisation is seeking a Design Engineer to join its Peterborough facility, which designs, builds, and supports mobile water-treatment systems used across multiple global sites. The Role As a Design Engineer, you will play a key part in supporting both local and global engineering projects. You will work closely with the design, manufacturing, and project teams to deliver high-quality, efficient, and customer-focused design solutions. Key Responsibilities • Develop 3D model designs using SolidWorks or AutoCAD, producing detailed fabrication drawings and review packs., • Support the design and engineering of mobile asset water-treatment systems for build and upgrade projects., • Work collaboratively with the design team to develop and refine concepts., • Select materials and equipment in line with specifications and certifications., • Manage customer deliverables for client-facing projects., • Use SAP for material master data, inventory, drawings, and BOM management., • Support EHS, Quality, MOC engineering actions and participate in HAZOPs., • Assist in supplier identification, part selection, and technical review of quotations., • Provide engineering support to manufacturing sites in the UK and internationally., • Offer guidance and training to interns, new starters, and outsourced engineering partners., • Carry out site visits and as-built surveys. About You Preferred Qualifications & Experience • Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, Electrical, or Environmental Engineering (BSc/MEng/MSc)., • Experience or industrial placement within the water industry is advantageous., • Proficiency in SAP, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks is preferable., • Curious, solutions-driven mindset with a focus on service-led design., • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across global teams.
