Thurner’s is Hiring — Senior Counter & Catering Supervisor Full-Time | Permanent | Monday–Friday | Up to 45 Hours | Up to £14.80 per hour, depending on experience Thurner’s is a fast-growing fast-fine-dining restaurant in the heart of the City of London. Since opening our doors, we’ve built a strong base of loyal customers and continue to grow. We’re now looking for an experienced Senior Counter & Catering Supervisor to become an important part of our team. This is a hands-on senior position for someone who is confident taking responsibility for a busy service, leading from the front and keeping the operation running smoothly. We are a very busy, fast-paced business, so this role will suit someone who enjoys working at speed, staying organised under pressure and being involved in every part of the service. What You’ll Be Responsible For • Taking ownership of the counter service and keeping service running smoothly, • Managing the till, payments and customer orders, • Providing excellent and efficient customer service, • Managing and coordinating catering orders, • Making sure catering orders are prepared accurately, complete and ready on time, • Coordinating the team during busy periods, • Training and supporting new members of staff, • Leading by example and maintaining high standards, • Helping with food preparation and service when required, • Organising deliveries and ensuring stock is stored correctly, • Keeping the counter and front-of-house areas clean, organised and fully stocked, • Monitoring stock and communicating any shortages, • Handling customer questions and resolving issues professionally, • Following food safety, hygiene and company procedures, • Supporting the management team with the day-to-day running of the business What We’re Looking For We’re looking for someone with solid hospitality experience who is ready to take on a senior role. You should be: • Experienced in a busy restaurant, café, deli, catering business or similar, • Confident managing a busy counter and high-volume service, • Comfortable using a till and handling payments, • Organised and confident managing catering orders, • Experienced in training or supporting other staff, • Able to stay calm, focused and organised under pressure, • Fast, efficient and hands-on, • Friendly and confident with customers, • Reliable, punctual and hardworking, • Passionate about food and hospitality, • Someone who naturally takes responsibility and gets things done Previous supervisory or senior hospitality experience is highly desirable. Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who can take ownership of the role and lead by example.
