LOCATION: Teesside JOB TYPE: Permanent Role Overview TEXO Recruitment are working with a client operating within the marine and ports sector to recruit a Marine Hydraulic Engineer. The role will support the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of hydraulic systems across marine vessels, port infrastructure, and dredging equipment. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of hydraulic systems operating in demanding marine environments. Key Responsibilities • Carry out diagnostics, fault-finding, and repairs on hydraulic pumps, motors, cylinders, valves, and actuators., • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on marine vessels, cranes, winches, and dredging equipment., • Support the installation, testing, and commissioning of new hydraulic systems in collaboration with engineering teams., • Use hydraulic diagnostic tools to assess system performance and implement corrective actions., • Manage hydraulic fluid systems, maintaining cleanliness standards and ensuring safe working practices., • Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations., • Maintain accurate maintenance records and provide reports on system condition and performance. Skills, Qualifications & Experience • Diploma, NVQ, or Degree in Hydraulic Engineering, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline., • Proven experience working with hydraulic systems in marine, offshore, ports, or heavy equipment environments., • Strong ability to read and interpret hydraulic schematics., • Experience with pressure testing, component overhaul, and hydraulic fault diagnostics., • Competence using hydraulic tools, pumps, accumulators, and filtration systems., • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently in operational marine environments., • Safety-focused mindset with attention to detail and reliability.
