Job DescriptionJob Title: Phlebotomist Job Description The Phlebotomist provides expertise in blood draws and specimen preparation, ensuring minimal discomfort to patients across a wide demographic. This role is crucial to our commitment to delivering high-quality care for our patients and those of our partners. Responsibilities • Perform blood draws, label specimens, and centrifuge them., • Record maintenance data and perform decontamination., • Update patient information accurately., • Collect and store specimens according to established procedures., • Explain venipuncture and other specimen collection processes clearly and courteously., • Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles., • Understand and execute physicians' orders., • Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes and handle specimens as required by test orders., • Check all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure accuracy., • Package specimens for transport., • Store specimens according to required temperatures and procedures to maintain specimen integrity., • Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations., • Wear appropriate attire and attend annual department trainings., • Answer telephone inquiries and read laboratory results.Essential Skills, • Phlebotomy expertise, including blood draw and specimen processing., • Experience with straight needle techniques., • 2-3 years of experience with drawing blood., • Strong administrative skills and attention to detail.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience with infant draws is a plus., • Pediatric experience is beneficial.Work Environment The role offers a dynamic work environment, ideal for candidates who enjoy a change of scenery and in-state travel. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm, with every other Saturday required. The position does not include holidays or vacation time. Job Description Job Title: Lab Assistant Job Description As a Lab Assistant, you will be responsible for preparing vial pans by rinsing them with Water for Injection (W.F.I.) and using the Cozzoli GW-24 Vial Wash Unit for washing vials. You will label all vial pans with pertinent product information, prepare media according to manufacturing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and complete relevant batch paperwork. Additional tasks include cleaning glassware, operating an autoclave, and checking equipment logbooks and calibrations. Cross-training for additional lab responsibilities will also be provided. The role is set in a fast-paced environment where you will be part of a team supporting lab operations. You will handle lifting 17-21 pound metal trays, inverting them, and occasionally lifting empty glass carboys for cleaning. The job requires standing for long periods and lifting trays of raw materials weighing up to 35 pounds. Work hours are Monday to Friday, with shifts from 10/11am to 6/7pm. Training takes 2-25 months and occurs from 6:30am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday. Enjoy paid holiday and sick time.
