This 13-week travel nursing contract offers the chance to deliver high-impact emergency care in a fast-paced hospital setting while enjoying the Finger Lakes region’s scenic gorges and outdoor activities. • Position: Travel Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) / Emergency Department nurse, • Location: Ithaca, NY 14850 (Finger Lakes, New York travel nursing), • Contract Length: 13 weeks, • Start Date: March 9, 2026, • End Date: June 8, 2026, • Shift: Night – 12-hour nights, • Average Hours Per Week: 36 (guaranteed), • Employment Type: Travel Nurse, W2, • Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,200 - $2,320, • Technologies: Epic EMR (experience preferred), • Active RN license in New York (or compact state eligibility) — required for New York travel nursing roles, • Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Department nursing experience (ER nurse, triage, acute care), • Strong clinical skills in rapid assessment, triage, prioritization, and acute patient stabilization, • Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational abilities in a high-acuity ED environment, • Comfortable with Epic EMR documentation and fast-paced charting, • Provide direct patient care and family-centered support within the full scope of RN practice in the emergency department, • Collect and document assessment data; develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care, • Address patients’ physical, psychological, emotional, educational, and spiritual needs during ED care, • Perform rapid triage, prioritize care, and assist with acute/critical care stabilization as needed, • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to promote safe, timely care and quality outcomes, • Coordinate patient movement and staff assignments; Charge Nurse responsibilities may be required, • Receive pre-arrival reports from EMS and community partners; support triage, admissions, and transfers, • Work closely with ED techs, case managers, social workers, and crisis evaluators to ensure continuity of care, • 21 monitored beds, 5 psych-safe treatment rooms, plus routinely used hall beds (29 beds total), • RN staffing ratios: typically 4–5 patients per nurse, adjusted by acuity, • Dedicated case manager and social worker available 7 days/week, • ED techs trained in phlebotomy, EKGs, and patient safety observation, • Provider coverage: 3 MDs and 2 PAs per 24-hour period GHR Healthcare Job ID #458485.
